    I was just reading an article about Detroit, and realized that it's mayored by an NBA HOF'r/50 greatest. He's been mayor of detroit since 2009.

    Along with Kevin Johnson, that makes two former NBA all-stars as active mayors of major cities.

    Bing really wants to turn Detroit around, and has great ideas for the city. I believe he's taking a $1 annual salary for the job too! Quite the statesman.

    There was an article in SI about a year ago about Bing and the city of Detroit. It was a depressing article, just like pretty much everything written about Detroit right now.
