Obviously, to me at least, Trevor had to try and increase offensive production in order to pick up the slack of having Chuck and Shane in the starting lineup with him. Once we had Kevin I would imagine the numbers show a bit differently.
Yeah, I think the major probelm with Ariza was we had Battier and Hayes like you said, plus he was on a new team, with a new coach and a new system, and before we got Martin and AB stepped up, Ariza was more else are primary scorer, something he's obviously not suited for
I don't think Ariza is a problem. With Yao back and a full team from the start of the Regular Season, it should help Ariza find his normal role. He played well at the end when he wasn't trying to be the "main guy" on the team.
I am actually pretty optimistic about Ariza. I believe he can be a really good role player once Yao comes back. Although his defense is not as good as Shane's defense, his offensive production will more than cover that.
Once again, a writer with the statistics chops to quantify the change from the pre-Martin Ariza to the post-Martin Ariza dropped the ball. Interesting article, but would have been a lot more interesting if they had addressed that question.
I believe that is going to be in the second part to this article. I could be wrong, but I believe that it is going to be focused on Ariza
