to me, this is the greatest series in that vein http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grendizer I knew it as GOLDORAK (France) but he was known as GRENDIZER in english. He had the coolest lair, weaponry & accessories (not to mention a decent back story). Anyone familiar?
Hollywood has chased away most of the creative people. From now on, they're only going to produce remakes and reboots of thirty-something nostalgia pieces.
All I know is they better do the awesomesauce transformation sequence with all of the lions roaring in turn, like this: <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tZZv5Z2Iz_s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Keeping the music would be a plus as well.
I know nothing about this...but cant help buy be reminded power rangers when I watch that video. Did this come first? Is it just a more mature style of power ranger? Fill me in..
Voltron was around way before MMPR. It's the show that people that saw it (still have a couple old eps on VHS myself) know Power rangers ripped off.
If ya wanna get technical, the first season of Super Sentai, the show Power Rangers is based on, came out in 1975, while Voltron came in '85. But in America, yeah, Voltron was first.
