    No doubt they have to be a top 10 defensive team. Morey has always said that's the goal when you are a true contender.

    To put it into perspective, the best Team TS% in the past 30 years:

    1. 2018/2019 Warriors 60.3%
    2. 2017/2018 Warriors 59.7%
    3. 2019/2020 Warriors 59.6%
    4. 2016/2017 Warriors 59.3%
    5. 2018/2019 Rockets 59%
    2007/2008 Suns 59%
    2006/2007 Suns 59%
    2013/2014 Heat 59%
    9. 2012/2013 Heat 58.8%
    10. 1994/1995 Jazz 58.7%

    Notable teams:

    97/98 Bulls 51.4% (19th in the league)
    96/97 Bulls 54.7% (7th in the league)
    95/96 Bulls 55.5% (8th in the league)

    Call it what you will but the Rockets (and the rest of the league) were up against the best shooting dynasty over the past 30 years.

    Do you remember where the Rockets were ranked defensively on the 65 win team? Feels like that was where they should be. Last season wasn't good enough defensively.

    I'm thinking they were third in defensive rating that year. Last year was a definite severe drop-off.

    I am more concerned about defense than offense. We are undersized and old upfront, and we lost Jeff B.

    Hey, but MDA's primary focus is defensive rebounds in the coming season. You don't need length for that. Pfft.

    Na I love Westbrook this is not a knock what I'm finna say cause I love the trade....but I feel I have to prepare the fans. This season we will turn the ball other alot. Not necessarily so bad...think the warriors who also turnt the ball over, with a faster pace will lead to turnovers. Just know this fans. The slow pace was also to cut down on turnovers since harden did iso

    Chris Paul in the playoffs had a TS% of 55.7% -- his lowest in 7 years.

    That said, Russell Westbrook? A dog s*** 46.6% TS% in his first round exit. Yikes. Better hope his fast breaking and superior rebounding makes up for it.

    I do think the Rockets system will improve his efficiency, analogous to the Astros improving pitchers who come from other teams. By just reducing his long twos, he will already become a more efficient player.
