Hong Kong 1987 ~ Whilst in Hong Kong for a vacation, MJ visited The Shaw Studios and TVB City in Clear Water Bay.
Actress Liza Wang representing TVB presented Michael with a TV trophy as a souvenir. Lisa said that the photo of herself and Michael, dressed in ancient costume will be placed in her biography.

MJ in a shaw brothers movie would have been epic!!!

Neat. If it didn't say so in the article, I would have assumed that was just his normal dress and not an ancient costume.

there is a another shot of him wearing a big red and gold robe with the big sleeve holes, joining his hands in the traditional way.

MJ was a big admirer of Bruce Lee. He was inspired by Bruce's 'be the best that you can be at what you do' mentality, (as many artists were and still are today, I guess). I guess he was also a fan of chinese films. I expect he had 35mm prints to watch in his home theatre. Just a guess.

Here is Michael in Detroit 1998. If you zoom in, you can see he's looking at a Bruce Lee VHS double set.
