While the cost in picks was high, it was a pretty ballsy move by MIN to bring in a QB that will probably still get them into then playoffs, and may even help them compete in the playoffs. Since its not certain Bridgewater returns for 2017, and Bradford isn't a one year contract, they aren't under pressure to use the first rounder for a QB in next draft. And if Bridegwater recovers faster than hoped, they can always trade Bradford. MIN has a few extra picks that they can use to move back into the first if they need to.

With Peterson, a few good wide receivers and a great defense... this makes it look like they still intend to compete, which is a great message to their fans.

I guess the thought of being 3-13 with an aging AP and another disappointing season, didn't seat well with their, even though it may have been better move for the long run.

Bradford was awful last year and he is constantly hurt.

I don't get why anyone would think "he can get them to the playoffs" is the default position. Has he had one season of yet where he was good and healthy?

The Cowboys got Mark Sanchez without having to trade a 1st and a 4th.

Not sure how much of a difference there is between Sanchez and Bradford. Either way you're screwed at QB. Only difference is one is cheaper than the other and cost less to acquire.

Vikings did AP a solid here. They are going into the season with a middle of the road starting quarterback. He's by no means a pro bowler, but he's capable. They did over pay, but they were in between a rock and a hard place. Adrien Petterson can't wait till next year, he's going to start declining.

It's a tough pill to swallow for Viking fans, but was absolutely necessary to commit to.

Seems desperate and stupid but they know more then everyone else about teddy's future. I would have traded
AP for top pick and also have tanked for another top pick.

Big difference comparing QB like that is how big is their repertoire in the playbook. It's a lot about which throws they can make, how they handle the option, etc. So one QB can have limited play calling, while the superior QB might not have the sexy stats, but be more effective, because more of the playbook is open for him.

As far as I remember Bradford can make all the throws, which is probably the reason teams keep chasing after him. Which to a coach is crucial, that his playbook open up to a offset what the defense counters.

Well for starters, one was just cut after not being able to beat out a raw rookie and Trevor what's-his-name (this after the team actually traded for him), and is now backing up a rookie 4th-rounder.

Not sure why it's so hard to believe that Bradford is talented, when 3 different teams now have gone to great lengths to acquire his services.

I'm glad everyone chose to ignore the conspiracy theory clown post on the previous page. I was afraid I'd find people debating that nonsense.

Amazing how much "potential" can net you.

A lot of people had the Vikings as legit SB contenders so probably worth the shot. The defense could be really good so if Bradford can just manage the offense...

Simple, because I used to be a Rams fan, that's why.

3 teams acquiring his services isn't as much proof of his talent as it is an indictment on the availability of good QBs in the league right now.

Can't wait to see him make all the throws in Minny this season....if he stays healthy.

    Vikings had no choice.
Taddy's knee is seriously messed up
They have (had) Superbowl aspirations and were expected to win the division
AP is on the downside of his career so must win now for him
    Their defense is rock solid
You can have a bust team play in your band new billion dollar stadium

You just had to go for it. You can tank without knowing how long Teddy's knee injury will set them back. Swing for the fences and hope you hit a home run. There is anyone else on the waver wire that would have been a better option.
