that is good but any signs he could average 10 pts 7rbs in the big league?
that might be his calling card instantly

still really out of shape. still has quite a bit of rust to knock off and fat to lose. fat and sloppy right now ...and still miles away from being a contributor in the NBA. Keep working Royce!

Passing the ball is good and fine, but he's going to have to learn to shoot the ball to make it in the NBA.

Didn't use his left hand. Will rename him "All-Right" White. Nice passes though

Nice passes, but my god his shot is ugly. It's not even his form, that actually looks alright, but the ball still never looks like its going to go in when he shoots.

Glen Rice, Mike Singletary, Ralph Sampson. A lot of big names in this game.

well he certainly have passing skills that would be quite good even in the NBA....

we'll see how it goes, to me it seems unlikely that most of his moves inside would work against the better PFs of the NBA at this point .... and yeah his jump shot is ..... rusty at this point to say the least, though the mechanics looks sound at least, which is good (you'd be surprised at how some NBA players don't even have sound jump shot mechanics.)

Encouraging. Royce looks like he is gradually getting in shape. He even looks like he is having a bit of fun. He is still an intriguing prospect. If he can keep working hard all summer he might be able to make the Rockets next fall.

I think people would be fairly high on his potential if he was just an unknown D league player trying to make an NBA team.

Royce does not do change well to put it mildly.

If he can ever get in the Rockets rotation, he might never leave till they let him go.

Parsons was also a terrible shooter.

He can be a nice weapon if he develops an average jumpshot.

Nice aggressive moves down low, no hesitation. And that underhand 'Magic' shovel pass is always fun to watch

Has Chandler ever said what most influenced his more accurate shot? He made some HUGE jumps that most players, even the best in the NBA, could never replicate.

Would he be the fattest guy in the NBA if he came up? Not that he is going to anytime soon.

    Thanks Crabdribbles!

His mobility is getting better as his fitness improves. He seems to be running a bit faster and moving laterally slightly better. That's great to see, even though he is obviously still not in good shape.

He's one of those players with great natural strength. He's not athletic enough to be a SF IMO so he will probably be a PF 80% of the time. The dude needs to keep dropping the fat, get stronger at the gym to make up for his lack of vertical athleticism by working hard on a post game. He seems to be a capable rebounder and an excellent passer for his size. Those skills could be accentuated if he has a decent post game - I'm not sure a consistent mid range jumper is within his immediate reach.

I hope his relationship with McHale isn't so damaged that he can't get the benefit of working with him on a post game and fundamentals of rebounding. I can see that the guy can play big minutes at PF for a contender in a couple of years (assuming no major setbacks of course).

I think Royce White has a great deal of natural talent, and a lot of his weaknesses can be cured if he's willing to put in the hard work all-year round to practice. But his ability to handle to ball and pass at his size is rare.

What does he need to work on?
    - Better shooting (& consistency), but his stroke looks smooth
    - Left hand, and going left
    - Better finishing in the paint
    - An alternate move when his preferred move is taken away
    - Boxing out, and going for the rebound instead of it coming to him
    - Defense and moving his feet

I think if he gets it, he has a real high ceiling. If not, it's a 16th pick.

I could see him putting up a unique statline of 5pt-5rb-3as in the NBA as a Boris Diaw kind of role player.
