This has been said before in other threads. When Martin doesn't get calls, then we don't get into the penalty each quarter as fast, so everyone's FTAs go down.

The play which made me furious was the Parker tripping Lowry bumping into Splitter standing in the circle somehow being an offensive foul.

That convinced me that the refs put a hefty bet on the Spurs.

Exactly - right - thanks for pointing this out. The myth of being set has been busted.

Now the Rockets on the other hand are trying to game the refs, while the spurs are trying to make buckets and game the refs at the same time.

Both Lee and Lowry bulled into the paint late with no hope of trying to make a shot, they were just hoping for a call.

When you are relying on the referees to make a call, you are NOT playing baksetball, you are trying to cheat the system.

Stop trying to game the refs, and start trying to play the game of basketball, and make buckets....because there are always nights when the refs are not going to fall for that BS, and you need to make shots.

We beat them before with Duncan and Parker playing.

Lowry was tripped into a player standing in the restricted area idiot.

When players are on the move, the simple way to view "being set" is the same as a cornerback vs a wide receiver. Both offensive and defensive players have a right to the space that they occupy -- moving or not. The offensive player also has right to the path he is taking. The defender cannot jump into his path without first getting set. Likewise, the offensive player cannot change directions to bull over the defensive player...this also applies to backpedaling defenders.

That said, this is only applies to the primary defender. A secondary defender always has to be set.

Why does that matter? I was commenting on what happened in this game. Duncan and Parker made things happen for them, and our guys weren't good enough to match that in the second half.

You obviously didnt watch the same game as the rest of us.... lowry was tripped = why he was "outta control.... and Lee was blocked = why he was outta control.... Clutch missed a couple other calls in that video.... worst officiated game I've seen in years....

No wonder Lowry throws basketballs at officials-

1:32 - Lowry wasn't tripped, he stepped right over that, and jumped into the guy, come on.....these excuses are unmanly.

He was completely on balance, stop making excuses for a poor decision.

DD even if he avoided the trip or whatever.... it was still a "charge" in the SEMI-CIRCLE AKA RESTRICTED AREA = BAD CALL

You do realize that is 100% up to a referees judgment, that not every call in the circle is automatically a block right?

Yes...its a tough job.... but By Rule..... There are no charges in the restricted area.... key words ...By Rule... The semi circle is not painted there to make the court look pretty... it is there for enforcement of the "rules"

Splitter jumped up vertically but his heel was over the dotted-line. If he didn't jump up, its a blocking call. Because he jumped, its a no-call. We got the benefit of that call many a times with Yao Ming, so lets not complain about it now.
