I'd still go with Brooks. Martin isn't exactly a playmaker that can create for others.

Martin is GREAT at what he does. But he isn't creating shots for anyone. He isn't getting his own shots...they come in the rotation.

    That's super-valuable.

But that's not down the stretch, go-to-guy stuff.

Brooks is the best we have at that.

Offensively, perhaps, but if I remember correctly, Rip was a very good defender in his prime. Kmart is not that...

mostly its because they are judging him off of his play for the celtics, and not the athlete he once was

That lob by AB looked pretty high. Didn't think Martin was gonna catch it and finish. Very Nice. :)

umm Ray Allen actually has a very good driving/slashing game. .That part is just often overlooked since he is such a GREAT SHOOTER..

Surely you jest. Just because a player starts alongside some of the best defensive players of his generation doesn't make him a very good defender. Hamilton has the same defensive deficiencies that KMart has. But it hardly matters when Prince can always handle the top opposing scorer, and Ben/Rasheed Wallace protect the paint.

The people who dont know about ray allen are usually younger than most, that's the problem...they only know about Allen the Celtic, not the go to guy in Milwaukee and seattle or the slam dunk participant. Someone even said last week that Allen had never done anything very athletic or something along those lines.

Anyway, what happened to all the criticism battier receive for going to the corner duing a fast break? Martin is doing the same thing, hopefully that clears it up for some folks in here.

And 50 secs for 21 pts, definitely efficient

doubt it, but i'd like to see brooks experiment with some extra weight...he's too quick, so losing some of it won't make his offensive game ineffective, but the added mass would a ton with defense and taking fouls. He looks a slightly bigger this year, hopefully he can add more size next year

Rip is better than Martin at using screens. Using screens the way he and Reggie used to use them is an incredibly demoralizing and tiring thing for perimeter defenders. Martin's good at those, but not masterful like Rip. Also Rip has a better mid-range game. Martin has a better shot from long-range, which is of course very efficient. I might give Martin a slight nod simply due to his all-world efficiency.

I Believe Martin's D-Fence will improve this season as he is no longer a focal point on O-Fence and K-mart has made it clear that he should be able to contribute much more on the defensive side. How much more? We shall see...

Kevin Martin earned his playing time with defense early in his career.... then everyone figured out how efficient he is as a scorer. Martin can play defense. I think that if this team goes back to being a committed defensive team and not an undersized running team Martin will show that his defense is underrated in a quality team defensive environment.

If he doesn't defend, his offense will go to waste.
