I learned during that game that their LS is also a true freshman, like Dicker and the holder (punter). I did notice that one of the misses was on a flubbed snap/hold. I'm not worried yet, but he can't have any more games like that.
Julius Whittier -- first African-American Letterman at Texas -- dies at 68 https://www.chron.com/sports/longho...-Texas-football-trailblazer-dies-13263114.php AUSTIN – Julius Whittier, the first African-American athlete to letter in football at Texas, died Tuesday morning at the age of 68. He was among the first black athletes in the nation to receive a football scholarship when he came to Texas from Highlands in 1969. Whittier, a stalwart offensive tackle, was a member of three straight Southwest Conference Championship teams (1970-72) and won a national title in 1970. Whittier was inducted into the Longhorn Hall of Honor in 2013 and San Antonio San Antonio Independent School District Hall of Fame this past August.
Reading that Beck isn’t traveling to Manhattan this weekend due to illness. Get the feeling Herman has been a lot more involved in playcalling after the Maryland game but guess we’ll see if there is any noticeable difference in the offense.
Makes the game a little more interesting (as if beating the Purple Wizard isn't enough). If the playcalling suddenly sucks because Beck improved, I'll be genuinely surprised. Injuries going into K-State – Will Baizer, TFB C Zach Shackelford – Will play RB Keaontay Ingram – Good to go WR Brennan Eagles – Game-time decision. Will travel DB/LB DeMarvion Overshown – Good to go WR John Burt – Questionable. Will travel DB BJ Foster – Concussion. Out DB Jamarquist Durst – Doubtful I'll be interested to see Overshown play, maybe as backup for Jones since Foster's out. Overshown seemed like one of Orlando's favorites in the offseason.

Good lord West Virginia's offense is scary. I know it's against a Tech defense (how the hell did Okie St only score 17 on them?) but still....
That's 2 weeks in a row Tech's defense has shut down a good offense in the 2nd half. If they could ever put a whole game together they might have something. Back on topic, I'm so glad the Horns this year decided that Johnson/Humphrey/Duvernay are in fact their best receivers and stopped rotating 6 or 7 guys.
Texas just needs to fix their redzone execution. The defense has been the best in the Big 12 the last 3 games.
