Not sure it's as much of a trust issue versus just not having the same relationship guys like Strong, Saban, Urban, Fisher, etc...had been building for more than a year. We see the same with a lot of transition classes including Saban's, Harbaugh's, Sumlin's, etc... But as a program, UT hasn't given recruits much to get excited about.
Ya good seeing Malcolm getting a ring, thought he was one of the more underrated players in the draft. But that 2015 class turned out some real nice players.
I believe this is the 12th straight year there's been at least 1 Horn in the SB, and they've won 9 of those.
Not directly UT related but LSU just hired Tommy Robinson as their RB coach. If Coach O has some on field success, Herman and Co. will have their work cut out for them recruiting wise.
Tommie Robinson is not a good position coach. When he had to recruit at UT, he made little impact. When he got to clean up the scraps at USC after they won the Rose Bowl, he did "great." This guy is no Stan Drayton.
No need for one. Robinson was just the lead recruiter for 4 of top 6 players in the 4th best class in the nation and was PAC 12 recruiter of the year. He recruited every back we had on our roster last season. Agree he is no Drayton but LSU kicked every Texas team in the teeth this last class and Robinson gives them another proven recruiter with Texas ties.
I know a lot of people are high on Ehlinger but pretty excited to see what Shane can do with a year under his belt and in Herman's system. He didn't play very well at the tail end of the season but really the whole team seemed to have mailed it in (except for Foreman) and the play calling was downright horrid at times. The kid is a gamer and throws a nice ball.
On Junior Day, Herman flips a kid from Florida that was committed to Florida St. Top 50 player in the nation.
