Use fake future First as a trade chip such as top 20 protected first. 1.6 million TE to Pistons for Christian Wood, solid defender who can shoot 3 pointers. 3.6 million and other consideration to Kings for Bjelica, 44% 3-pointers. Deal Nene and Thabo to other teams as needed.
Bjelica makes $6.825 .... cant combine TPE with other assets for salary matching purposes. Belongs in the Random Trade Thread, - I.D.D.I.O.T.
bjelica, typical big man from Europe, good passing, excellent long-range, has post-up game and good at setting screen (nice fit in Princeton Offense); woods is young and nice potential, can block shots, good rebounder, has mid-range and long-range, what's more he love fighting for post position; both impressive PF, most important of all, good salary-to-production ratio

TPEs will go unused Nene will be traded If they're lucky, they can maybe get one buyout guy (but don't count on it) Do not act surprised or angry when this happens next Thursday at 3:00pm. Do not fall for Daryl & Tilman's post-deadline speech of "We were close on a few deals, talking to a few teams but obviously nothing across the finish line" or "We had a deal and the other team pulled out." or "We were prepared to pay the Luxury Tax [if the right deal came along]. Luxury Tax has never came up." or [Daryl's ass kissing] "Tilman has great, he's given me the green light to make any move(s) necessary. Tilman, Tad & I are committed to winning & doing whatever it takes." or any of their other spin.
OMG, if that happened I would be disgusted with both Tilman and Morey. That would be their signature on a big billboard to the Houston fans that says "F*** Your Wants. We Don't Care"
I really don't think you can blame Morey for any of this tax evasion business , he's obviously got a mandate from ownership and is severely limited in what he can do to improve the roster. I don't think he trades away Ryno , Melton a first and second round pick if he isn't forced to get under the tax line , he'd have sat on that contract for a year and turned it into a 3rd max player as an expiring contract ....
The GM does have some choice in it, but certainly is hampered by the owner's limits to spending. He can still choose length and defensive strong players over a bunch of little guys who are just there to stand around shooting 3's.
Thing is , you aren't getting that length and strong defensive players for minimum contracts and that is literally all he had / has to offer. The guys you are talking about get paid big money - just look at Ariza He got $15m/1 and $25m/2 since leaving the Rockets and has not been close to the same player.
I agree, and that is where they screwed up. They went guard crazy. I'm almost at the point of trading Capela for a star forward, because Hartenstein will get better, and we still have Chandler too. Otherwise, we probably won't get much of an upgrade, and McLemore and House really aren't good enough defensively. I'm just tired of losing leads and blowing games when we bring in the the backups, or no real backups at all in Clint's case.
