The owner needs to fire Thibs, who is only thinking about the present. Wrong thinking. They need to prepare post the Worriers era. 4 first round picks plus their own could build the next dynasty. Look at the Celtics.

Why are we acting like Gordon is untouchable?

 

It is not untouchable, it is luxury tax next season.

I could be wrong, I think Tillman is not planning to pay over $20 million luxury tax in any of the next 4 seasons.

If it’s a money issue, than let’s see how bad he wants to win. Not my money. But one thing I know Morey knows is numbers and I’m sure that has already been contemplated.

 

In the end i guess our final offer will be Gordon, two picks (2019 unprotected and 2021 protected or the other way around to make it looke better) and Chriss.

The ideal scenario would be to keep Gordon obviously, but we have also to be realistic here, Knight and Chriss are negative/zero value, if Minnie takes them back it means at least one 1st rounder we're offering them is to eat those salaries.

As for us, aside the fact that we have no guarantee that Gordon will resign here (the fact that he refused to extend this summer is a big alarm signal imo), getting Butler is an obvious upgrade for our starting five.

In the end we can still hope Knight comes back and actually boost his value a bit in time for the deadline by playing the Gordon role, even if he's clearly not as good. And we would also still have the MLE to play with in the buyout market to get a good bench player.
