I heard from my sources close to Les, Trump name came up a couple times.

 

So he signed Morey and Harden to extensions without telling them. Wowzers. Harden kept talking about the 'family' feel of the Rockets smh - Les made sure to get them signed so he could sell the team for more $$$$

 

1) maybe Les didn't know yet and 2) I haven't heard Morey or Harden say that. link?

I think it is the other way around. Les wants to reward Morey, if the new owner decides to cut him loose, he would be owed the amount of the extension. And Harden the same way.

 

Les should be a pimp and just buy out or waive Anderson for us before he goes

Typically a new owner or exec would come in and roll all those unwarranted salaries back and piss everyone off. And then fire nearly everyone within the year. Happens all the time. Not an option here. Les knew what he was doing. And if you follow Morey he was tooting his own horn this week, more so than even in the Paul trade. That could be coincidence. Maybe not. Think Les was definitely rewarding them. Small chance Harden and Morey already knew.

New owners should pick their own people and often their own players. It's a sad but simple truth to get buy in.

Morey is in a good position regardless. And if I'm Morey I would want out for that simple reason. But more oft then not, you stay for the money, but rarely does it work long term. Everyone has to be on the same page, and not just giving lip service. Transition though may take up to a year.
