On Friday, Cuban said: “The complainant was an employee of the AAC, she did not work for me. Nor did any of the other people mentioned. I am a minority investor of the AAC holding company. As such, I am not involved with the day-to-day operations of the arena. You would have to speak to the AAC general counsel for any further information.”

There has been no confirmation about whether Cuban ever saw the bear, the “noose” or was aware of the incident, as contended in a sworn statement by the employee who allegedly found the noose.

“I confirmed with the person who found it that it was definitely a noose,” said Rogge Dunn, the attorney representing Newsome. “There was no doll or teddy bear. They said: well, it must have fallen out. But there was no doll in that room. All that was there was a noose with a loop in it. It was very clear.”

The person who saw the “noose” said he took a picture of it with his mobile device, but Dunn said so far that photo has not been recovered.

Newsome has filed a federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaint about alleged racial and gender inequities at the arena. Several similar lawsuits launched in the 2000s were ultimately dismissed.

Was his lewd office behavior because there was a female presence, or is that incidental? That seems like an important detail.

Financial penalty? Big deal. Cuban pays the fine and next.

There is no REAL PAIN without basketball sanctions. Loss of 1st round pick.

Doesn't move the needle in the slightest.

Silver has been pretty good but this is giving Cuban an easy pass. Had a chance to make a statement. Disappointing.
