According to Luhnow --- Astros are the first team beat BOS and NYY same postseason.

Being fair, this wasn't possible until 1995 when an extra playoff round was added.

I think facing Darvish and Kershaw will be really hard.

Hard for them to find a way to win. I respect the Dodgers talent, but I don't think they're ready to scrap and claw for survival. The Astros are doing it for Houston. Lance already told me what I needed to know.

Me and two high school and college buddies from Houston that live out here are trying to score tickets to game 1. Prices already dropped a bit, hoping the drop even more closer to game day so went can snag some.

Can’t miss an opportunity like this to rep my city.

Yeah, when the Dodgers decide to go with the uptempo offense it's really gonna drain our guys.

This Astros team has swagger. They may or may not win, but it won't be stage fright that beats them.

That is why everyone is excited. Two juggernauts going at it all out.

And for those fixated on the records, let's not forget the Astros were on pace for like 117 wins before all of the injuries. Fiers and Peacock kept the team afloat just long enough to get everyone back.

    how is this relevant ????

the no-hitter was in 2015; 4 starters on the current team, Seager, Bellinger, foresyte, Taylor, were not w the Dodgers then.

Gotta say it seems odd that heat and smog would give someone else a homefield advantage over a team from Houston.

Lol it's really funny seeing primarily basketball fans trying to comment on baseball.

It will come down to the starter and bullpens of each team. The offense is tilted slightly to us but they have the better closer.

Too bad we don't have home-field. We must win of the first 2 in LA and win game 3.

10 seconds is how much time they took to talk about astros vs yankees on undisputed. You can see it hurts them not to talk about a yankee win. Lol, back to talking about Cowboys

they have some great players but guess what so does Houston. The first to four wins has the edge.

    Is that all?

I think getting a split in LA and then taking 2 of 3 in Houston is a more realistic projection.

yip, the best team on paper from each league, each w over 100 wins,

for the Astros to beat the LAD, they must render Dodger's "light's out" bullpen less relevant, meaning
    • score first and
    • not to let leadoff hitter Chris Taylor / energizer bunny Puig get on base

the injuries may have prompted Astros to trade for Verlander, who has won every playoff start.

fwiw, LAD were on pace to 120+ wins, until injuries got in the way, which prompted mgmt to trade for Yu Darvish,
who has also won every playoff start.

nothing we haven't seen . the yankees had the better bullpen through the regular season. same logic applies, which is... it's baseball anything can happen. an 100+ fastball can get shelled by the little leader or teen wolf can hit a grand slam of Verlander. But these astros will never just lay down.

Game 3 is the most important game to win in a 7 game series...so if we take 1 of 2 in LA and game 3 here, the odds on us winning the WS goes up as more times the team that wins G3 will win the WS even if they are down 0-2.

Sorry, I though you were saying take 2 in LA AND game 3 (essentially winning all of the first 3 games). Thought that was unrealistic.
