True but we shoulda done better. We had our chances to earn it. On to game 6

The only game that was worth raging about officials in was game 3

i dont care if the refs literally starting playing for the spurs to make it 8v5, it doesnt excuse the chokejob rockets did from the 3nd of the 3rd and on. either middle of the 4th or end, i figure end of the 4th, harlan said rockets were 5/20 from three after w/e their number was before. 5/20 on threes where most were good looks or wide open? the big 3 or 4 warriors would never go 5/20 on wide open threes. on well contested threes they would, but not when they're getting good looks.

still have a rof to explain why he isnt avg 4-5 threes a game if he has a quick trigger and deep spacing. bot okc and spurs aren't "hugging" him on defense, they sag off like any other shooter.

this loss has made me salty as ****. it was possibly the biggest ame of the season and winnable by at least 20.

Can anyone remember a game where the two minute report showed that the Rockets got the benefit of missed calls, because I can't.

Game 3 win vs Warriors last year - Harden pulled the 1998 Jordan on Bryon Russell to win the game.

Well, one of those missed calls was a turnover, so that's pretty huge. Those calls definitely impacted the game but you'll get people that will say that they did not.

When the coach only plays a 7 man rotation, you're gonna pull a "choke job". Hell, it was like Gene Hackman's character in "Hoosiers", going with only four players on the floor. It allows the Spurs to do to the Rockets what the Rockets did to the OKC Thunder. Your star player excels for three quarters and then can't lift his arms in the fourth.

I don't see it the same way it seems some others here do. We almost beat the Spurs in their building, took them into overtime. I think we played really well other than some late mistakes but the Spurs played deeper into the bench, and we'd have won I think if we brought fresh legs in to defend like Spurs did with Simmons. I think we take the next two games, not just because Leonard is injured but because the Spurs bench guys aren't that good, they will fold when we start with that opening punch and drop 35-40 on them in the first quarter. Coach Pop will sit his guys out of frustration, and we'll cruise to a game 6 win. Then game 7, I think Pop goes back to Aldridge and Gasol clogging the paint and James and company will feast on the 3pt line. James will finally get some respect from the refs in game 7, and he'll finally get his FTs that we rely on.

The worst call was the offensive foul on Harden at the end of regulation where Simmons threw himself backwards as soon as Harden extended his arm. This is a bench player getting a call at the end of a playoff game over an MVP candidate.

In all seriousness, I agree with you that i think the offense will bounce back. Harden has pride and he has skills - you know he is itching to erase that from people's memory. Needs to be able to go downhill all game. To do that, it would help if Lou Williams could spell him some. Feels like Ty Lawson again a bit.

My big concern is whether we can rely on our defense holding up two more games. Offense might improve but the defense regress

The call in yesterday's game that had me the most furious was the non-call foul on Beverley in the 1st quarter where Simmons basically clobbered Patrick causing him to lose the ball and having it count as a TO. You could see D'Antoni getting ready to get T'd up.

EDIT: actually I think it was Mills that hacked Beverley. Doesn't matter who though - refs still had negative ocular dysfunction

I got really pissed at this blatant hack by Kawhi on Cap in the third quarter. All wrist, no ball. Play on, nothing to see here. Capela's been getting the short end of the refereeing stick all playoffs. The alley oop that he got hammered on was just as egregious.

This pissed me off too. You can literally hear Kawhi slap Capella's hand.

I thought as a whole it was a well officiated game. The late game shenanigans really got me HOT, but it happens. We had plenty of chances to convert good looks and close it out. But if you give me the chance to retain that crew for the rest of the series I would be 100% on board with it.

2 Green drives that resulted in a layup and a layup and one, I believe, clearly shows LMA pushing Capela and Ariza respectively. Those were two huge calls.
