People act as if what the Rockets are trying to accomplish is easy. It isn't...... the Rockets have tried for a lot of premium players in free agency or in trade, and they have struck out most the time (every team does), but the Rockets have also had lots of success. The Rockets turned Rafer Alston into the best player in the world (Harden). The Rockets traded for one of the 3-4 best point guards in NBA history and won 65 games.

The Rockets SHOULD go after players like Jimmy Butler, and fans should encourage them to. However, there is this attitude that because it is only successful about 10-20% of the time, that everyone is devastated. If it was easy, winning a title wouldn't mean much.

Everyone should be excited but also understand that the chance of it happening is relatively low.

Exactly. The success rate is low, but you can't win if you don't play. Sometimes the pursuit pays off. Give me aggressive Morey all day.

I don't know why you guys are so hung up on Burt Steel. It was kinda funny once a few years ago. Now, just dumb, imo. Like a 8 minute SNL skit that got old 30 seconds into the bit.

Jesus Christ man......... if you don't ask out the prettiest girl in the class, you are never going to date her.

Yeah the chance of her saying "yes" may only be 10%-20%, but I would rather ask her out than be like all the guys afraid to even try.

Would it really be better if Morey said: "Ohhh we don't have cap room, and I'm sure Butler isn't interested. We are going to see if maybe we can sign Seth Curry and run it back."

The guy with that bit is a big Texans fan and has football connections.

    He doesn't care about basketball.

At this point it is just painfully awkward when his stuff is posted.

Reporting back. Tad has just now started following a BUNCH of other non-Rockets players. Perhaps to disguise the *Butler only* follow.

I for one, in spite of my pessimism, will never say the Rockets shouldn't go for these type of players. Morey, swing for the damn fences all the time man. Believing it won't happen isn't the same as rooting against it. Some people here are actively rooting against the Rockets from getting better.

    Full disclosure: I'm a solid 8.9; I'm a full snack. My pull rate on 8-10's is 75%.
