    This.

Texan fans should realize that most of the players wanted Kubiak back as well.

In fact it is rare for players to want their coach fired, it brings a lot of uncertainty to them. Like "Will I be traded? Will I be in this his plans? Will my work with the new coach?"

adelman has said multiple times that he would like to remain the coach for our rockets.

i think he likes this team, mediocre or elite. at this point in his career, i think a title would be a luxury for him but i dont think he cares at this point.not having a title, doesnt take away the fact that he is among the top ten coaches in games coached.

hope we keep him, hes established a great foundation to build off of.

this is gunna be a tough one.

Management should try keeping the players happy. Les needs to get his head out of his ass before he makes a bad decision and screws us in the long run.

I didn't say Adelman doesn't care about defense. That was fairly ridiculous (I'm well aware of where Adelman's defenses ranked in POR and SAC). He is most known for his offensive game plans and it's pretty well established that the Rockets were a good offensive team and fairly poor defensive team this year.

And just an FYI -- both Hayes and Lowry had starting jobs this year as a result of injuries. It's hard to say if Lowry would have kept the job if he had not become a better offensive player than the one he replaced.

Also should be noted that the Rox were top 10 in defensive ppg during the first two years of the Adelman tenure:

    2007-2008: 4th (92.0 ppg) 55 wins - Yao 55 GP
    2008-2009: t-6th (94.4 ppg) 53 wins - Yao 77 GP
    2009-2010: t-21st (102.7 ppg) 42 wins - Yao 0 GP
    2010-2011: 22nd (103.7 ppg) 43 wins - Yao 5 GP

It's no coincidence that when Yao went down, the effectiveness of the defense as a whole went down as well.

We were poor defensively this season because of personnel. The players don’t watch Rick back because he’s a great offensive coach; they want him back because he’s a great coach, period.

Even a defensive-minded guy like Chuck sounded very sincere about wanting back a coach who “preaches offense.” I remember in an interview a couple months back when he was asked about what it was like playing for JVG vs. Rick. He made it sound as though JVG was a great coach, but Rick was an even greater one.

I really hope management wakes up and listens to these guys.

If you don't want him to sabotage his career any further, you might not want to tweet this to him. If he retweets and Adelman happens to come back, I don't think he'll get much PT.

If twill gets traded, he'll probably do some flashy play and then stare at the Rocket's bench for a whole sequence while someone burns him on defense like he did to Avery Johnson.

Did Lowry not played hard before Adelman? What about Hayes? Battier? Lee? Scola? Patterson? Dragic? In fact they were all known throughout their careers to be hard working competitors who carry themselves in a professional manner. One of the reasons they were brought here.

On the other hand guys like Brooks, Hill, and to some extent Budinger who have had a history of laziness particularly on the defensive end were still the same under Rick. And how can we forget, what wonders Rick has done for Squid.

Adelman does some good things, like running our offense like a machine. But as far as playing hard every night and competing, which IMO probably has as much of an impact on winning as the mentioned offense, let's give the players some ****ing credit for once.

Every year, there are coaches that are on the bubble due to problems between players and coaches. In some cases, the players are almost begging for their coach to leave like Kuester/Pistons, O'Brien/Pacers, and Sloan/Jazz. That's at least the 10% that are the most public. We might be able to bump it up to 20% with google.

But in this case there are MORE THAN JUST THAT.....

How much did it cost to build the team chemistry Rockets showed after the trade deadline?

Hog good is throw all this work and an entire roster that learned a system, to start over from scratch?

How likely is that FO will get a better coach than a HOF?

Playing hard is not the same that blossoming, and such players did that, DESPITE HOW LOW THEY WERE DRAFTED?

Did you notice that? How many coaches 'who give minutes to young players' can have better results that the ones RA got with players like Landry, Lowry, 2pat, Chase? care to show us?

Although(!), appears he just arrived back in Houston a few hours ago, hours after it appears when these exit meetings took place.

What is the point of bringing up what he did 10 years ago with another team? Hosuton Rockets will not win a championship because Aldeman's teams had top 10 defense ten years ago. Did the Houston Rockets have top 10 defense under Aldeman? Serioulsy why do people bring up what he achieved 10 years ago? Its pointless and useless.

Playing Hayes is a no brainer, it has nothing to do with Aldeman liking defense. Who else was he going to play? Ismael Smith at the 5? Aldeman was only playing Hayes for like 20 MPG at the beginning of the seaon and gave Miller a lot of wasted time. He realised his mistake 60 games into the season then started giving Hayes more time (got a triple double as a result) and sat Millers ass down. Too late.

Aldeamn only started Lowry when Brooks got injured, then Lowry earnt it and Brooks lost it through their own effort and performance. Aldeman didnt just hand it to him because he played better defense. Any coach would have the same thing, but Aldeman still persisted to give Brooks major and crucial minutes even though Brooks was being outplayed by Isnmael Smith. We all know by now the team would have been better off by not giving Brooks those minutes. Too Late once again.

Aldeman is no different from D'Antoni or Donnie Nelson, score, score, score. Dont worry if they score 150 against us every night, as long we score 151. There is absolutely no difference between D'Antoni or Aldeman when it comes to instilling/impementing defense. Having a 7 foot defensive presence would have made no difference for us as long Aldeman was the coach, he would have still preferred to play Miller and Hill instead.

I wish Les fired him last year and got us Doug Collins instead. He preaches moving and sharing the ball too, but more importantly he preaches defense as well. And he doesnt have any favouritisms or biases when it comes to rotations. He is not afraid to bench guys and hold them accountable for screwing up. We need a coach like that.

The 1st two years defensive results need to be credited to JVG. He instilled that into the players and they kept it up after he left. JVG still maintained solid defense when YAO went down under his reign, with players like David Wesey and Juwan Howard.
