Season finale, what did you guys think? Do you think the other characters will be as interesting to follow as the Ragnar theme was? I think the show will start to weaken..... Great finale though. DD
Spoiler Strong finish and introduction of a new badass bishop. The Boneless turned to be the strategic mastermind and ruthless. It does not bode well for Lagertha's rule. Feel for Floki and Sigurd. Ecbert just got away cheap.
Ecbert was awesome. Super bummed he isn't in the show anymore. It will be tough sledding with Ragnar and Ecbert gone.
I'll say one thing: They promised more action in Season 5 and have delivered so far. Also: Spoiler I'm concerned about the number of separate and distinct sub-plots. (1) Ivar, (2) Lagertha, (3) Floki, (4) Bjorn, (5) Harald and (6) Bishop Heahmund. That may be too many. I realize this show is particularly fatiguing to the actors and you cannot have any one set of characters dominate a full 20-episode season.
I'm pretty badly missing Ragnar, Ecbert and Athelstan. Not gonna lie. It's weird too, it seems like all the younger actors on the show are doing weak Ragnar impersonations. Having a hard time buying in, especially with Lagertha and Beorn. I wish they would die terrible deaths, and then we could get some more Rollo/Floki action. I did love episode 3, and Johnny Meyers is doing a swell job.
I was certain the deaths of Ragnar and Ecbert would kill the show. After 3 episodes, there is a small amount of hope.
Yeah, that third episode was extremely well done and I was very hopeful, but the 4th episode sort of shattered my dreams again. It's not that it is particularly bad, it's just that Ragnar/Ecbert etc were SO DAMN GOOD. Ragnar/Ecbert, even Athelstan were once in a lifetime characters/actors. Bring back Rollo.
