Yep. Awesome! this is an actual spoiler so don't read unless you've seen the show Spoiler: Actual Spoiler I wasn't a big fan of the BTK cliffhanger. Not sure if I want Mindhunter to become a cliffhanger show.
Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but I predict I'll be watching this in a couple of months.
My friend just mentioned this to me on the way home today. Said it was about a serial killer. And then I told her about Rodney Alcala, which was as wild a story that nobody knows about.
No, season 4 was the last. I just wanted to mention it since you mentioned fleabag and they were somewhat similar in styles.
That’s a pretty weak description of the show. Has she even seen it? That’s like saying X-Files is about a monster. Like X Files, Mindhunter is about an FBI Agent, loosely based on a historically real FBI agent — John E. Douglas. Like Mulder, he uses unconventional techniques in his work/research. The FBI started a Unit just for him, assigning a by-the-book careerist to keep him in check, and a PhD Psychologist to ensure scientific methodologies — like Scully. Indeed, the show is based on a book/books Douglas wrote — “Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit” The team started the actual Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI in the 70s to learn how to capture serial killers,,,they even coined the term “serial killer.” Most of the show is about how they build-up the Unit...internal politics..and how they interview famous serial killers to build a database of behaviors to categorize them, and apply to evidence. Many think the multiple Interviews are the best part of the show — like, how do you get them to talk, what they are like, and what you can learn from them. Along with that historical focus on interviews (which are re-enactments of actual interviews), they have a Monster of the Season to catch, to provide an underlying measure of suspense and ultimate climax.
Just started GLOW and definitely have been missing out. They do a good job of packing the story in with only 30-35 min episodes. Not a lot of garbage fillers happening which is change of pace for a Netflix show.
Watched Baller's new season episode 1. *snore* Also finished The 100's last season. It's kind of dragging at this point. Needs something new injected into the dynamic.
Just watched the pilot for yellowstone. What a snoozer. Everything so predictable. His daughter (kelly reilly) is hot but way over the top and just silly. Silly soap opera show. Gonna take some motivation to watch the 2nd episode
Others have already stated, but just got through the second season of Dark. A German science fiction drama that explores a time loop involving a city’s inhabitants. Freaking outstanding and can’t wait for the third season dropping on the day of the apocalypse
Think I’ll just copy and paste this whenever I try to tell someone what the show is about. Thanks, hp!
