It's year one people of the MDA era.. Yes the ultimate is to win a championship but damn .. let's become a serious contender before we can contend with the juggernauts of the West... ITS YEAR DAMN 1!
You know what Lionel Hollins said the year that the grizzlies lost in the 2nd round to OKC? He said your time can pass waiting for your time to come. Lionel was the point guard for the Portland championship team in 79, I think. They won it when they had no business doing so. Make no mistake this opportunity the rockets have cannot go without a fight. Y'all have an excellent shot to get to the finals, don't squander it.

You are on a see-saw here. It seems like deep down a lot of you all don't believe in this team at the first sign of adversity. The rockets still could easily win the series, but not by losing composure like they did tonight. It's like, well my 3 is not going in, let's shoot 20 more and maybe it will fall, instead of trying to lock down the spurs to keep the game close.
I've said all year the team was overachieving.... this is a 'transition/get acclimated year.... added Ryno, EG, lou and MDA this year - can't expect instant success... i don't think Morey even expected us to contend this year... If he did we'd have a lot more declining vets in support position on the roster as opposed to the 'projects' that are just riding the pine at this point.... Personally, I would prefer a more conventional dynamic with more bigs that could bang down low... but that aint the road we're on... but I'll at least give Morey and Co the time to complete the vision...
This team is mentally weak. We saw it in the OKC series. It caves under pressure and that's what happened in Game 3.
I do tend to forget this, I gotta say, and it's a good point. This season has been a joy, regardless the outcome.
