You have to give Trump credit for one thing... he understands how to manipulate the game..

He reminds me of (George Washington Duke) from Rocky 5.. "Hit me and I will Sue"

Trump is basically daring the Dems and Repubs to impeach me... If any of the Repubs follow suit he will do a full out attack on them for being a traitor... If the dems try and impeach he will use that to rally his support...

Now that Biden has made his statement, Trump is getting exactly what he wants.. For the dems to start the impeachment process.. This will give him the fuel he needs to try and get re-elected. He knows that the senate will not vote for him to get impeached.

This is like one huge Merry-Go-Round..

Don't be scared, he is not that smart - impeach him, say it is your constitutional duty and put it on the Senate....most of the country supports it.

Stop doing things for politics, do what is right.

Dems should rally their support around things their base is passionate about. Stop being afraid of the people who support Trump. The problem is no one on the left is passionate enough to go vote because of how dispassionate and weak democrats are on pretty much everything.

I’m not sure that the Senate will just vote to not impeach...I think McConnell is too smart for that and will look to gain more power.

Trump is popular with the Republican base, but he’s looking bad in the polls. Senate could see this as a way to dump Trump now and go with Pence, who acts much more like a president is supposed to act. Some Republican folks may be upset at first, but they’ll still head to the polls on Election Day and vote for the guy with an R next to his name, especially when FoxNews spins it.

I don’t think this is as open and shut as it seems to be.

    Pretty much.

If the evidence is damning I think you are going to see a lot of the bigger name senators could look to fill the void.

Like Cruz, he could finally make his move here.

Do you think Trump will go quietly? What makes you think he will put his country first and go quietly. This could get ugly fast.

Completely disagree. Trump does not want to be impeached. Trump understands branding more than anything. He likely now joins a very small group of presidents with a massive Scarlett letter on his forehead.

He also knows that this accusation (which he has admitted) is easy to explain and repeat to the low information voter. This will hurt him politically. His base of support was always going to show up as well. They turned out in 18 in record numbers because of the damn caravan. They’ll show up in 20 too. That doesn’t matter because the Dem base will show up too. What matters is the 10% of low information swing voters and this accusation SHOULD be easy to communicate... unless the Dems fowl this up.

But at the same time yes... Trump did dare Congress to do this. He said just this morning that “Congress doesn’t know how to control me” or something similar. He was obviously emboldened after the Mueller testimony and thought he could do whatever the hell he wants. He seems to realize now he’s in deep sh$@. Even asking Pelosi this afternoon if they can work out some sort of a “deal”... whatever that was implying to Pelosi.

Trump understands it. Unfortunately his supporters still think he’s playing 8 dimensional chess.

Is this why he called Pelosi today hoping for a deal?

Trump was having rough sex with whistleblower on the White House lawn?

If not, that would make great TV.

Trump allegedly ask a foreign country to help him politically in the 2020 election. This is against the law. Trump put Trump ahead of country.
Pelosi would have the whistleblower's statement and its associated phone transcripts, if Trump would allow it. One could argue that Trump is obstructing. I ... did ... not ... see ... that ... coming.

And, if he does? Are we supposed to live in fear of a tiny minority of the population just because they pose a serious threat? Is that how we’re going to operate now?

Yes...could be he's a very stable genius and this is a Monte Cristo master stroke....

....or hes just a random jackass making it up as he goes along.

Which do you think is more likely, given your past observations of his behavior?
