Technology works both ways obviously. The US stands a chance of being crippled by a cyber attack if a major war broke out between the US and China or Russia.

The US shouldn't accept all of them, but this is where the UN and NATO have been impotent and the US has been indecisive in a game that requires the US getting further entangled in time and resources.

Most of the refugees have fled these violent areas. They are looking to be resettled. The 20 million the article refers to are most likely not in refugee camps - they are caught in the middle of wars, battles, and skirmishes. Groups like Al-Shabaab are blocking their access to food, or delivering food to these people is too dangerous.

BTW, the US was in this situation 25 years ago with Somalia. Back then, war lords sought to pilfer food and supply donations, and use them as bargaining chips. Oddly enough, places like Qatar (Al-Jazeera) seem to believe that this is the US's fault.

Someone may need to explain the concept of our system of checks and balances that protects America from (in this case) the executive branch running amuck. Also that Hawaii happens to be a state...

Sally Yates responding to Cornyn... was the senator unintentionally or intentionally misstating what Yates said... in either case...

This guy is a loser on so many levels. Trump says he wants to ban Muslims, claims it's not a Muslim ban, enacts ban on several countries excluding Saudi Arabia which is where most terrorists have come from, court blocks ban, Trump mocks the court, Pence mocks the court, Trump says appeals court will overturn block, and... appeals court upholds the block using Trump's own statements. LOSER.

It's insane that banning base on religion is not legal.

Yes, it's insane that trained professionals would ask such low hanging fruit questions that any swinging dick with the most basic level of common sense would lie to if they actually believed it.

terrorist monologue to himself - "I've dedicated my life to this moment. This jihad. I'm going to finally enter America and kill some Kaffir!"

immigration officer: "Do you believe in honor killings?"

    terrorist:"Yes!"

immigration officer: "Your visa has been rejected."

terrorist:"astaghfirullah! America duped me again! Next time kaffirs! NEXT TIME!"

That's precisely why it's being struck down. Because there is no merit behind this order. It's not about national ****ing security. It's about the Donald stroking his base with pandering. This is the stuff that stupid people want.

Asking these type of questions serve literally no other purpose but to signal idiot Trump supporters that Trump is doing something about dem damn Mooslims. You know that. You're smarter than that. It's obviously a pandering gimmick.

A committed and trained terrorist wouldn't answer yes, true.

But someone who isn't a trained terrorist, but perhaps a "terrorist sympathizer" and a little dim-witted, might. If you allow enough of those sort of people to enter the country, that's also a security risk.

perhaps the better question is, then, do you hate american? maybe even, do you believe in killing american? or, do you support terrorism?

edit: it's silly, but it get right to the point of security and huh, dim-witted might just bite.

Heh... the conservative blogger's tweet and Commodore are being somewhat disingenuous with this... even if you read the carefully chosen excerpt you will read "find the text of EO-2 to be yet another marker" and the example given in the blogger's excerpt is just one of a number of examples of the religious purpose of the ban. The anti Muslim "dog whistling" referred to in the excerpt is also an attempt by the blogger to rile up fellow right wing nuts...

For those that want to read the entire circuit court ruling: http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/25/politics/read-travel-ban-ruling/

of course Commodore would pick out something that on the surface scream 'insane'. He done it all throughout this thread. That's what you do, cherry picking, when you can't win the argument as a whole.

No... I'm sorry but that's silly. You have a low bar for basic common sense of the average dim-wit. That question is such an obvious question to answer no to it's beyond ridiculous and is only there to pander to the Trump voter demographic.
