Exactly. This commission is to led by Mr. Voter Suppression himself, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach. This is a move to further depress the number of possible votes Democrats can get. This is a very anti-democratic move. This should raise alarm bells for us all. It is both Orwellian in nature and naming and, combined with the Census shenanigans, a clear sign of RNC intent. Kobach was the architect of the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, which was known as the "Muslim registry" and condemned by civil rights groups for targeting Muslims. Kobach also helped write the draconian anti-immigrant laws passed in Arizona and Alabama in recent years. Courts struck down several provisions of these laws. More recently, Kobach has focused his attention on combating voter fraud by making it harder to register to vote and by prosecuting alleged instances of voter fraud. After Kobach won a conviction against a man who voted twice in an election earlier this month, the Kansas City Star lampooned Kobach for his single-minded pursuit of what the article dubbed a "non-issue." The document also referred to voter registration rolls. The American Civil Liberties Union, currently suing Kobach's office over a Kansas law that requires proof of citizenship in order to register to vote, requested the release of the documents Kobach brought to his meeting with Trump. On Wednesday, a federal judge ordered Kobach to produce the documents by Friday. Pence's state of Indiana was involved in an election registration imbroglio when the state police shut down a group that was registering minority voters in the state. The state claimed that the group was submitting bogus registration forms, but it's unclear if those accounted for more than a handful of the tens of thousands of forms the group submitted. On the campaign trail in October, Pence touted the investigation into the group, saying, "I'll tell you, in the state of Indiana right now, we've got a pretty vigorous investigation into voter fraud going on." Months after the alleged fraud, a prosecutor in Indiana has yet to file any charges against the group.
Dur Dur Dur Trump is so stupid. Quick, let me go write about it on CFBBS and lets all laugh at him....while we get distracted from the real story. Im so smart that I know he's doing this to distract me, but Im going to sit here distracted and write about how stupid he is for talking about election fraud. Just the mere fact there is a thread on this subject only proves Trump is successful using the most basic means of distraction and deception. Even a cat gives up on the red laser pointer dot eventually.
The guy leading this Executive Order has been taken to court FOUR TIMES by the ACLU and lost all 4 times for voter suppression. I'm anticipating this Executive Order to get caught up in court as well as potentially discriminatory given what the Executive order is designed to accomplish if anything (probably doesn't solve anything but tasks people to try and prove his 3 to 5 million illegals theory).

I know what it's like to lump everyone we disagree with together, but you might want to read more of the posts. Mine, for example. I don't think this is stupid at all, and I don't think it's a distraction. It is an intentional strategy to help him hold power past 2018 (GOP controlled Congress) and 2020 (re-election). Awful, in my view, but not stupid. Cheers.
btw, as of May 5 Trump submitted 32 executive orders, 28 presidential memorandums, and 30 proclamations. Shows he is very busy. Though a lot of them were meant to revoke previous orders (include a few of his own). Some haven't actually done anything because the courts stopped them (eg the Muslim bans, the sanctuary city EO) Then, there is that pesky Trump says something, especially while criticizing his predecessor, but does something else...
But if someone were to stop lumping all people into one large group and paint them all with the characteristics of the worst of that group, it makes it a lot harder to hold some of the positions they have. It's just not as fun.
And what point would that be? That people here on a political discussion board shouldn't point out the mistakes/flubs/lies/insane things that Trump, his spokespeople, administration, and supporters say and do? Or should we just do it less often (of course, if Trump and his people didn't say and do so many crazy things so often...). My guess... that Trump supporters here are getting tired of having to come up with reasonable explanations or excuses. Or perhaps, they are getting increasingly embarrassed by the growing flow of crazy coming from Trump and his people and reading D&D is just getting too painful (sorta like watching last nights game with the Spurs). For the previous 8 years conservatives blasted away at Trump's predecessor. On this discussion board, on talk radio, and on Fox news. Don't remember SpaceGhost and other conservatives saying "gee, my fellow conservatives should lighten up because it... ". But now, as the person they put into office is on the hot seat... "gee, you can't keep posting about all the crazy things he does."
