Our schools suck, and will continue to suck. We're increasing subsidies and rejecting trade. We're moving inward because we can't compete. Instead of handing a US passport to every Phd in Asia, Africa, South America, and Europe; were rejecting them. It's okay to protect your industries and your citizens economic advantages to an extent- everyone does it. But when you move completely inward because you can't compete and don't adapt, you're making yourself poorer in the long run. The Arab and Latin American states did it in the 20th century while As is turned outward. And the results in this century are telling.
