I think this guy's impact off the bench may tip the scale in our favor for at least the next two games. This is not a great matchup for Lin, and Harden's usual style of play don't suit the playoffs. I think we should make Harden the PG on offense when Daniels is in the game.

What I'd like to see is a Harden/Daniels pick and roll much like the Lillard/Aldridge pick and roll.

That would hard to defend with Daniels ready to shoot if they don't double on top.

So what is good matchup for Lin??

Westbrook and the OKC? Clippers and Chris Paul? The defense of the Grizzlies?

Lets stop with the matchup excuses.

This was one of the most FAVORABLE matchups for Lin.

    MO FRIGGIN WILLIAMS.

Mo is the guy who has always choked in the playoffs. A piss poor defender that has habitually bricked in the playoffs.

This is the guy Lin is matching up against and he cannot outplay him.

Lin could not have hoped for a better match-up. He should have shred Mo into pieces. This matchup should have been a ++++ for us.

Frankly I don't want to make this thread about Lin, but I think you are right in that it's not a matchup problem, rather it's a problem of Lin being a role player whose skills are not compatible with our two primary stars.

    Now back to Daniels.

Harden with PER under 16, Dwight near 29. We literally have one star against two, and Harden becomes a role player in playoff(PER doesn't even capture much of his defensive issues).

Dwight, and amazingly Daniels, are the only ones that stepped up for the playoffs. A true shame.

Buzz works hard. Like Shaq said, his is a story for a lot of aspiring youth to know about. VERY proud of him in Richmond, in Va, and at VCU right now. Pretty angry with Williams too.

Yup, though you can make a case for Asik as well. Beverley is injured and not playing all that well but I'll give him a pass.

I just hope he doesn't turn out to be like Casspi, Hamilton, or Garcia, where they have a stretch of really great 3 point shooting then just fall off a cliff. I think he'll avoid that trend considering he is a pure 3 point specialist and those other guys are not.

At one point last night...Daniels have a chance to break the tied when we were down by 2pts with time running out. He caught the ball and hesitated...an didn't shoot the 3. I wish he shot it and if he made it, would have given us a 1pt lead with maybe less than a min left in OT. Man, he would have been a hero.

I really like this kid. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with some more meaty minutes next year. Sample size/experience is too limited to know how good a defender he can be, but his 3 point shooting is elite.

Mchale needs to run some Ray Allen JJ Reddick sort of plays for TD. I mean this is a seriously dangerous weapon and it fits so well with Harden and Howards game. I believe in the game 7 victory!

Rockets lead at start of 4th Q = 5 point
Daniels and Lin subbed out at 6:41 for Bev and Parsons, their lead = 5 points.

6:41-6:04 Bev, Harden, Parsons, Jones, Howard
(Rox scored 0 points; Portland scored 2)

6:04 -2:50 Bev, Harden, Parsons, Asik, Howard
(Rox scored 3 points; Portland scored 11)

2:50 – 0 Bev, Harden, Daniels, Parsons, Howard (except for Lin defensive substitution for that crucial play).
(Rox scored 9 points; Portland scored 4)

Lol McHale drawing up plays, good one! He doesn't even draw plays to get Harden good shots, what makes you think he'll draw plays for Troy Daniels.
