I mean, is it a large portion of his wealth? Probably not. But dude has made only $18 M in his career, which means that his accumulated wealth is MUCH less than that. After taxes, agents, and whatever money he has spent over his career, I wouldnt' be surprised if he has not much more than $5-6M in his bank account. $15k isn't a big chunk, but it ain't pennies.

Agree completely. Can see Blake clearly stepping out of bounds as he makes contact with MDA.

This just made NBA look completely ridiculous.

Well, this sadly solidifies the belief that the NBA protects California and New York teams and the rest of the teams in the NBA be damned. Excuses excuses, excuses...

Can you image what D'Antoni must be thinking right now?

Uh... what other income sources are you referring to? He has had no significant endorsements.

I mean, sure, if you have a couple hundred dollars in your bank account, then it would be pennies to him to you.

NBA just said it’s ok to bump the other teams coaches to send a message as long as “it’s a minor bump”...

youre assuming he doesn't invest in something, get money for appearances, bonuses, etc...hes probably gambled that much money on a few team plane rides which is common for teams. theres a variety of ways professional athletes get money other than just a basic contract. hes a 10 year veteran playing both in the states and outside. pennies

I'm sure all fines are paid by the team's organization through "creative accounting" techniques, not by the player.

media coverage of blake's hit on pringles has been dismissive from the very start. no doubt that's the way the league wanted it. the video @Clutch posted with woj & pierce is like something out of saddamn's info minister archives. these people are not that stupid. they are simply reading out loud what it says on the script.

Why not 5 games? 10 games? 20 games? Half the season? The entire season? Banned for life? After all, a "very bad & dangerous situation" and you "never know what could happen in there".

Congrats on suspending players on something that might have happened and not suspending a player for something that did happen. Way to go!

Yeah if the Rockets were to appeal something they should appeal this and specifically cite Cousins for doingsame thing.

To me, what griffin did to Eric ( throwing the ball off his upper back) was almost as bad as bumping into MDA .

I fell he threw that with intent to do harm

those appeals never yield jack. this league is just a complete f'n joke

just look at the fact that one of the most liked guys d'antoni has not gotten even one coach coming out and condemning what griffin did. nobody dares cross the league office

Like I said, unless you are making absurd assumptions such as "GG invested in Bitcoin and now is worth 1.5B", then mathematically speaking, $15k is not pennies to him. In other words, pennies for the average American household is orders of magnitude less than $15k is for GG.

We are within our right to appeal correct?

Or is it within the player’s rights to appeal?

Delay the suspension until after gsw game Saturday...

    Amiright?

Oh well. No accountability from the NBA, as usual. Unfortunately, I’ve already refused to re-up the 10 year suite contract that is required to be in the Lexus lounge, so my leverage is officially gone.

Can’t say I’ve made a bad decision. It was obvious last season that parity was deteriorating to anyone that was following ref stats. Les is a stock guy. Classic buy low, sell high scenario. He saw what the rest of us saw, and got out.

I love the Rockets. Always will. However, I will not support a league that protects its short term interest via star players at the expense of its long term existence. I hope Tilman steps up and protects his interest in the NBA, but I seriously doubt he has that kind of power.

It’s a tragedy of the commons, unfolding before our eyes. It’s what the commissioner position was created too prevent. Unfortunately, Adam Silver is a complete dumbass, and is unfit to play the role.

Viewership may not reflect this sentiment at the moment, but viewership is not a forward looking metric. Give the league 2 years, and they’ll be firing on all cylinders trying to figure out how it “happened so fast.”

Keep in mind all the people excusing the refs actions as well. They are the main problem. All the people telling you that you shouldn't be absolutely pissed about this have literally zero clue how basketball works. Stop accepting their bullshit. Get mad. Get angry. ****ing break some ****. They don't deserve people like you.
