Dude, it's your opinion that he stalked and murdered a child. You say that like it's a fact when there are two sides to a story. The Police who have gathered facts that neither you or I have seen all of and are not convinced enough to make those allegations.
So, who does Zimmerman get to punch in the face and bang their head in the ground before they shoot him?
The person who chases him and then approaches him while he's minding his own business, and then starts a fight with him.
How is this even relevant? It's the ****ing black panthers. How many African Americans do you actually know that ACTUALLY support and identify with the BLACK PANTHERS in this day and age. STOP pandering. Do you understand how r****ded the point you're making is? All you/Texx etc have done is twist the issue. Oh no, MSNBC edited the lines on a broadcast they posted. So what? Most here have heard the actual tapes and it doesn't change the fact that enough evidence is coming together to have him charged; it's clear that he should have been arrested on site. "Oh, they cleared up the surveillance video and you can see two scratches on the back of Zimmerman's head." That's not consistent with getting your head smashed into concrete repeatedly as Zimmerman claimed happen. Where's the broken nose also? There's no swelling, no signs of treatment, and no blood whatsoever (that includes Martin's blood - which should be present after shooting him point blank while getting his head smashed in). I work in the Roberts OR at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas - our Ortho trauma patients often have received treatment for broken noses before entering the OR. In the case of blunt force trauma in SUCH a short period of time prior to the tapes - the damage should be immediately apparent. Zimmerman doesn't look like a man who was forced to resort to deadly violence. That's just my conjecture. Here's what we know: -According to Chris Serino, the former lead detective of the case, he questioned the veracity of Zimmerman's account of what happened, and wanted a warrant to arrest him but was refused by the state attorney's office. That state attorney, Norm Wolfinger, has vehemently denied that claim. -Zimmerman was not the one crying for help in those tapes according to two independent forensics experts. - Only (1) witness has come out and said Martin was on top. The other eye witness (the boy walking his dog) was misquoted in the initial reports (he has released a yt vid of what he saw and was visibly shaken by it). Witness accounts: The boy walking the dog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AySYPMy1Ejw -Zimmerman *for sure* was pursuing the boy a couple of minutes prior to his death after being told not to by the dispatcher. It's in the damn 911 tape. -Zimmerman was a self appointed neighborhood watch captain (not a member of a recognized neighborhood watch). -Zimmerman has a record. Regardless of whether the charges were wiped, he has previously been charged with felony assault of an officer and two instances of domestic violence. -The police tested Martin's dead body for drugs. They didn't bother testing Zimmerman. - The funeral director who prepared Martin's body for burial said there weren't signs of a struggle: "his hands and knuckes had no abrasions, There were no bloody fingernails, no bruises." This is a man who has prepared thousands of bodies for burial, he has somewhat of an idea of what to look for. - Zimmerman has a history of aggression. -His defense is predicated on Treyvon Martin coming back to attack him. Okay. Lets look at what happened that night. 1) 2) A Trip to 7-Eleven It is a wet Sunday evening in Sanford, a modest, central Florida community just north of Orlando. Trayvon walks back to the home of his father’s girlfriend after a trip to 7-Eleven, carrying a bag of Skittles and a can of iced tea. 3) Trayvon Returns to the Retreat at Twin Lakes Trayvon may have entered the gated community either through a pedestrian gate at the front entrance or through an unfenced section often used by residents as a shortcut. 4) Zimmerman Calls 911 Around 7:10 p.m. Mr. Zimmerman tells an emergency dispatcher that he sees a “suspicious guy” near the clubhouse. “This guy looks like he’s up to no good, or he’s on drugs or something,” he said. “It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.” 5) Zimmerman Follows Trayvon A couple of minutes later, Mr. Zimmerman tells the dispatcher that the guy is running toward the back entrance. The dispatcher asks Mr. Zimmerman if he is following him. When Mr. Zimmerman says yes, the dispatcher says, “O.K., we don’t need you to do that.” 6) Leaving Instructions for the Police Mr. Zimmerman initially tells the dispatcher that he is parked near a “cut through.” He says that the police should come in through the gate, straight past the clubhouse, make a left and go past the mailboxes to see his truck. He then says that the police should call him when they arrive. 7) Trayvon Is Killed There are conflicting reports of what happened between the time Mr. Zimmerman called 911 and when the police are dispatched at 7:17 p.m. Trayvon is declared dead around 7:30 p.m. in the grassy area between two rows of town houses. (Info from http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...eading-to-the-shooting-of-trayvon-martin.html) What's more likely - the boy with no criminal record was headed home (at the end of the path he died on) or that Zimmerman - a man with a violent past pursued and attempted to apprehend Martin. I really don't know, but based on what we do know there's no question he should have been arrested. Treyvon Martin was like any other kid. He didn't have a history of violence, he was just going home. Recent pictures of him: What a thug.
If/when Zimmerman is no billed, will the Florida Criminal Justice System and the Dept. of Justice (some of you think they are handling the whole investigation) have failed to work properly?
Funny how this hasn't been mentioned: http://articles.cnn.com/2012-04-03/...ts-police-documents-black-males?_s=PM:JUSTICE Evidently there have been black males breaking into/stealing other people's stuff lately. I wouldn't have lost sight of him either, for fear he was going to steal something. Criminals know to get out in the fog/rain when less people are going to recognize a burglary/theft. I know, you don't have to tell me. The truth hurts.
Do you mean the the truth that the friend is covering for another friend or that the friend is racist too? We all stereotype but you can't go around killing people because they fit your mold.
not sure what a voice stress test tries to prove though? That he wasn't stressed for killing a man? That would be concerning if true. I would imagine anyone who just shot someone and killed someone would be pretty damn stressed/freaked out.
It's supposed to be like an audio lie detector, though it's accuracy is questionable. However, it does support Zimmerman's version of the events. More importantly, it does show that the police were making a legitimate effort to investigate the matter. It was not simply a case of them asking Zimmerman a couple of questions and then letting him go.
As noted in the article the voice stress test is probably not admissible and has a fairly high error rate. Anyway as I stated a few times earlier I am willing to believe Zimmerman actually did fear for his life. The problem though with that is whether his fear was reasonable.
Agree with the way you describe it.. and also if that fear shouldnt have been there in the first place if he didnt follow Trayvon looking for trouble.
I read somewhere treyvon had a backpack of stolen jewelry and was suspended ten days from school. Is that true?
He was suspended from school for possession of an empty mar1juana baggy. The jewelry was believed to be stolen, but couldn't be tied to any reports of stolen property.
