Currently you can trade for coaches but only under very restricted terms. Technically it's not even trading for a coach. It's allowing a coach under contract to be released and the team signing said coach gives compensation in the form of draft picks. This is literally what happened with Jason Kidd. Nets released him so Bucks could sign him and Bucks gave Nets a couple of future 2nd rounders. What if coach trading though was loosened and became more of a thing? Would it be good or bad?
It's a very strange concept to me. Why would a team hold a coach hostage with an asking price of draft picks? Seems like it would create immense drama within the organization.
