You may think that Seattle would never do this deal, but the fans I've talked to have said they like Rogers and would love to clear caproom for Rashard Lewis. It gives us two guys who's contracts have one more year, who will both help next year, and a future first rounder. Anyway, here it is: Seattle gets: Carlos Rogers Houston gets: Horace Grant, Shammond Williams, 1st rounder(maybe conditional, similar to Milwaukee's) ------------------

I have a similar trade idea on another thread however I'd rather just land Grant and clear $2,430,000 for 2001. I sugguested Grant for Rogers and trade exception. Seattle drops $1,000,000 below the cap (though not enough for Lewis) and we clear Rogers salary for our free agent run in 2001. ------------------
Seattle would never do this deal. Shammond Williams is Moochie Norris on crack (the good kind). First rounder? Huh? Horace Grant? Oh, Horace Grant, their player that can bang and actually rebound. For Carlos 'bad luck' Rogers? For the inevitable exception? uhhhh... ------------------ no fat chicks
If you throw in Peyton, then I might be ineterested. Then we have: C: Olajuwon/Cato PF: Grant/Thomas/Collier SF: Williams/Langhi SG: Anderson/Mobes/S. Williams pg: Francis/Peyton/Mooch/S.Williams We would rock! Who's = who is whose = possesive who ------------------ rimbaud post-a-thon 2000 *Your Ad Here*
I guess Williams would work too however Seattle may need him in another package to cut more salary. ------------------
Sorry about that, I've been away from the board for a week and a half, I guess I missed it. Shammond Williams would be another salary Seattle would like to get rid of(even though he doesn't make that much) which is why I included him. His contract also has one more year on it, so he will contribute to our cap room. Finally, our depth at the 2 is very thin, in fact it's just Mobley(assuming he wants to start) and spot minutes for Anderson. S. Williams would be a solid backup. Sorry about the grammar error, Mom. ------------------ [This message has been edited by DaFranchise (edited June 30, 2000).]
If Seattle gets rid of Shammond Williams, then I'll kick Wally Walker's ass. ------------------ no fat chicks

The Rockets should call the Sonics and tell them that they want to work out a deal for V Baker. Then Seattle would be interested. Mango ------------------ Eat more spinach! Live long and prosper! oops... sorry DaFranchise, I forgot that you actually paid attention to the $$$.00s. But don't you think that we'd have to send a pick in a swap of Carlos for H. Grant? ------------------ no fat chicks
Achebe: From what I understand, Seattle is desperately trying to get under the cap for Lewis, so any way to dump salary is a good way. The Seattle fans I've talked to also appreciate Carlos Rogers. Mango: Oh ok. My rookie campaign is coming to an end though, I think this is post 98 or 99, so within the night I will officially be in my sophomore year. Maybe not, it looks like everyone's left the board. But good ol' 100 should come soon. ------------------ [This message has been edited by DaFranchise (edited July 01, 2000).]
Seattle may not have to cut salary after all, it all depends on Orlando and Chicago. ------------------
How many bells, whistles and draft picks would Seattle have to hang off of V Baker to get another team interested? Not possible? Mango ------------------ Eat more spinach! Live long and prosper! Donate blood! Smeg will be assimilated. Now...back to updating The Serious Police Files.
Well Lewis has said that loyalty is nothing in the sports world today, so it's going to take a good offer to keep him. All it takes is $5 million from Chicago(very likely) and Seattle starts wheelin' and dealin'. Hmmm, maybe I will hit 100. ------------------
Seattle didn't want Carlos when they drafted him 11th overall in 1994 (they traded him to GS for Sarunas Marciulionis and Byron Houston). Of course Bob Whitsitt was running the franchise back then.
I like the first of the trade but how about we go a step further and give them Walt would cut 6mill off the cap next year. ------------------
If Seattle gets Walt, they don't clear any cap space. In other words, they wouldn't do it. ------------------ [This message has been edited by DaFranchise (edited July 01, 2000).]
