Since all of the other threads about Melo will end this week, we might as well occupy our time with something different that may or may not be a pipe dream. Vote in the poll. Give realistic scenarios, if possible, for doing it as well as the myriad of reasons why not. I don't see a scenario where the trade could be consummated with Ariza and Capela without exceeding the max. Any trade would have to include Gordon and Capela. If you can get Wade I think you make the effort to do it because you want to be the guy that finds Capela and not the one that pays him. Love the kid but other teams know we have to match him in the summer and they will max him out. Were going to be in tax hell anyway but might as well make sure we are paying for stars. P.S. I have never posted until recently but I have been following CF off and on before Yao. I have never seen anything like this or been this excited for our team since 1994-1995 and I started the wild ride watching the Rockets in the 1981 Finals.
i think the pelicans have a bad start to the season he likely wont want to resign and the pels would be willing to move him before the deadline some people think OKC will go after him. they might try to swap steven adams for him but i think he has a lot of years left on his deal
They got him for a rotational player at best (Hield) and a first right? Capela, Z Qi, EG is probably too much for Cousins who is a FA in the summer.
Well I think you undervalue Hield he was what the #6 pick from the previous draft? Apparently sac-town thought highly of him. We don't have any young assets like that or very good picks. Btw a lot of people are pretty high on Hields potential
Would be amazing but I feel that would be the trade that puts us on an extreme short rotation and we'd have to give up way too much to get them.
Capela and a pick will get it done. Especially if Harden and others can do some recruiting, he'd be the missing piece to knock off GS.
This will sound nuts, but I'd rather have Capela. No one would argue that Clint is the better player, but he's the superior defender and pick and roll player offensively. Also, I'm just not sold on Cousins playing a winning brand of basketball. I think he's doomed to be "great stats, terrible team" guy, and I'm not a fan of his attitude.
