I think it's very rare to have that situation, unless the players are almost irrelevant. Otherwise, coaches/gms will be making calls until the last minute possible. Nothing should be a sure thing at this point.

Pau, Bogut, Jennings... But no one ever guesses Morey's trades. Anyway i'm going with Pau Gasol, Andrew Bogut or someone from the Timberpups.

I wouldnt be surprised if HOU landed Melo somehow in this terrible losing streak of the Knicks.

    Knicks get: Scola, Martin, Dragic

    Rockets get: Melo, Fields, Shumpert

    or something like that.

You're not suggesting they're going to pick Lin over Melo, right?

The city will riot if they get rid of their superstar...

    OKC- Harden, Muhammed, Ivey
    HOU- Lee, Dalembert, Dragic, Patterson
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7gtalt2

NO- Okafor, Belinelli, NO 1st rd unprotected
HOU- Martin, Morris, Thabeet, MIN 2nd rd
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=87ae39v

    Lowry, Flynn, Ivey
    Harden, Williams, Belinelli
    Parsons, Budinger
    Scola, Hill, Smith
    Okafor, Muhammed

I said I'd stop with the ideas but I believe it works for all teams involved and for Houston, we start a quick rebuilding process. Grab Harden and NO 1st at the price of Okafor's contract. Potentially having 3 lottery picks, though I hope we make the playoffs and give the pick we owe NJ. Draft Kidd-Gilchrist with NO pick and Leonard with NY pick if they enter the draft and look to a bright future. But more than likely a disappointing deadline.

Starters- Lowry, Harden, MKG, D-Mo, Okafor
    Bench- Bud, Parsons, Scola, Leonard

My prediction is that Morey will surprise us. It seems to be what he does. I just hope I like it.

This trade gave me a flashback to being at McElroy's Pub off of Richmond when the news came across the screen that we had traded Sam Cassell, Robert Horry, Chucky Brown and Mark Bryant for Charles Barkley.

Houston sends Martin, Dalembert, Dragic, Morris, and a pick to Indiana for Granger, Hibbert, and Hill.

Everybody but Lowry, Scola and Parsons for Chuck Hayes. Fill out the roster with Vipers.

I could see our biggest trade getting us a top pick, and maybe even not until 2014. Or picks. Or a player somebody else has stashed in Europe, who won't come over for a while. Morey would do such a thing to us.

    This would be awesome.

Do the Lakers trade (ofcourse LA would have to bypass the medical)
    ~Gasol for Scola/Lowry

Do a trade with the Clippers
    ~Mo Williams for Martin

    Get NOH's pick
    ~Trade Okafer for our 2k09 busts. (Thabeet/Flynn/Williams/Hill)

    Williams/Dragic
    Lee/Bud
    Parsons/Morris
    Gasol/Patterson
    Dally/Okafer

    Bonus:
Lee becomes starter and this shows him we want him here.
You could have a very strong defensive line up with four of the players on the floor.
    Lee
    Parson
    Okafer
    Dally

    It's either Okafor or nothing.

I still think we match up really well with Minny for Pekovic or Williams. We haven't heard of either being on the table or any trade rumors involving us and the Wolves, so I think that will be Morey's surprise deal. It will center on Martin and Budinger going to Minnesota and us getting a big back in return. That's more or less my prediction.

Pekovic Ok.... But why do they want to part with Williams when they are zealously shopping Mike Beasley?

I think that if we can't a move that will significantly upgrade the team in the future, we will just make minor improvements and try to finish strong for a playoff run.
However, it also depends on the Lowry situation and if we can weather the storm without him for half of the remaining games.
