Interesting read...never heard of the guy. Nothing on youtube about him either. I would have liked to watch him play.

    It isn't very long.

Basically lenny cooke vs lebron james before lenny cooke vs LBJ.

    Summary:

There was a very hyped basketball player, Felton. Tmac was this nobody, but dunks and embarrasses Felton. Felton becomes depressed and his life spirals to drinking and death.

I think felton had a lot of issues and didn't make it like most guys.

I think you're right. This is a tragic story of 'what-could-be'. I hope his wife and children are doing well. In terms of basketball: The fact that Felton didn't have a passion for the game doomed him.

Tracy's dunk just makes a shiny moment that ESPN can frame an article with.

Uh, it makes for a good story but honestly there was no way getting dunked on is supposed to destroy your bball life. It doesn't work that way, a jam can put on the map (like what happened to Tmac), but getting dunked on isn't enough to crush your dreams and hope. I mean, how many guys have gotten dunked on, or had their ankles broken? Its a regular event, and while you might get embarrassed for some time, you will a ton of chances to make up for it.

Even if he didn't get dunked on Felton wouldn't have made it anyway. Seems like he was bound for alcoholism one way or another, maybe after his first 2-11 game in the NBA he'd have started drinking.

Knew a guy who killed someone and himself, the news story made it appear that it all stemmed from him getting cut from the HS baseball team. Yeah right.

That dunk was good but it wasn't like the greatest poster I mean James is stupid for trailing so hard and still trying to get back, woulda been better if it was actually how it was described in the article how t-mac "slowed down" and stared at him before commencing to t-bag him.... but anyways it was aiite

Very interesting read, thanks for sharing.

The dunk didn't ruin the guy, but it seemed to be a catalyst for what was already going on. Even the guy's coach (or whoever) said that after that, he was visibly different. If he already didn't like basketball, that certainly didn't help. And everywhere he went, he'd hear, that's the guy McGrady dunked on.

It was the single cause, but it sure sounds like a huge catalyst as I said.
