Good to see Tracy out and about doing some things to boost his image, in a non-selfish way. I hope the last year's experience has humbled him and gives him some drive to come back and prove the nay-sayers wrong like D-Wade after his surgery. If he put his ego aside, worked on mending his relationships within the club and stayed out of the media he could really help this team this year...oh, if he stays healthy. What happens after that is anyone's guess, but considering we're not going to get half the player he is when healthy back, I don't see much point trading him if he's not destabilizing the club.
He can do it all but staying out of the picture. It is really hard for him to avoid the media. The media was and still is all focused on him.
honestly to do that he'd actually have to stay in his house all day. The Guy is a high profile athlete, he may not live up to that standard anymore but this is something that will stick with him passed retirement now like Penny. The media will ALWAYS be in Tracy Mcgrady's face no matter where he is.
A lot of the media attention is because he craves it, and instigates it, but not this...... This was a very good cause and low key...... Nice work Tracy. DD
Great to see our guys really care, we have great guys on our Rockets!! Here's hoping TMac gets to contribute for us again.
Good for him, and the Valley. Keep the low profile, Tracy. It's a lot easier to dodge the arrows that way.
Look, your insecurity is becoming really annoying. This is a Rockets forum. If you can't stand criticism of McGrady, feel free to leave. Most of these people didn't just wake up with nothing better to do but hate McGrady.
In all seriousness, I wish the NBA changes its policy about injuried players playing in the NBDL like a rehab assignment. MLB has a good plan on how to slowly bring back its players off the disabled list, NBA should follow soon.
The RGV Food Bank delivers 96,000 meals per week. That's what stood out to me. Sounds like a great charity.
Slightly off topic - but yeah. NBDL should be a 'free for all' - any rostered NBA player can play for the affiliated NBDL club. So the Rockets could send any players they chose to the Vipers. It MIGHT mean that there's 5 players on the Vipers - but so what? Why shouldn't the best basketball players in the world actually play some games? It's better for 'development' for younger players to play against better players. It'd help the NBDL crowds immensely, and it gives teams a chance to 'showcase' a player against 'proper' opposition. TMac is a great example - if the Rockets are through with him, then they could play him on the Vipers to show other teams that 'hey, this guy's still got it'
