It's more of a hate for all things McGrady than it is a love of Barkley

There are probably hundreds of posters here more knowledgeable about the current NBA than Charles Barkley.

Barkley rips Pippen for quitting Rockets
    SUMMER OF 1999
    By Clutch
    Copyright 1999 ClutchFans.net
Charles Barkley fired back at Scottie Pippen on Sunday in the Chronicle article Barkley rips Pippen for giving up on team. Said Sir Charles after suggesting Scottie's heart is in the wrong place, "This whole thing really has pumped me up. I want to prove people wrong. I want to prove him wrong. This is a great challenge for me, because my manhood has been questioned. I don't want to let myself down. And I don't want to let the fans down, because they have been unbelievable to me. I want them to know that I would never, ever trade my experience in Houston."

This is true. TNT is more entertaining. Both shows are biased but Webber is about the best their is as far as former players on sports talk shows. Barkley is just more entertaining.

DD has some charms but he is doing work in another field of expertise than basketball

Some guys can be guest commentators if those TV stations ever wanted to recruit from the masses

I love my brother DD, but nobody will have you guys on national tv for 16 years.

I understand you people hate Barkley, I'm fine with that.

But you can't possibly think that he's not the main reason that show is popular.

McGrady is not new as an analyst, he's been guest analyst on NBATV before.

Barkley and Kenny smith's job is safe.

Exactly, that's why people watch that show, it's mainly for entertainment and their chemistry is natural .

Nobody is a gimmick is Stephen A Smith.

Maybe Tmac can come up with some cool phrase like Mark Jackson, "moma there goes that man"

I know that you are a proud "99er" lol, I guess that's an achievement of some sort.

I'm also aware that your hatred of McGrady, for whatever reason, probably dwarfs your love of any Rocket play short of The Dream.

I like Barkley the player, legendary player for his size. Powerful one.

I am ok with the entertainer Barkley as well. Says stupid things and provides fun for the audience.

But I am tired of those goofballs on TV. Dwight Howard should not go on TV.

They should stop going to those guys and turn to more serious guys that are funny and knowlegeable.

And Alexander should pay up the debt

I don't hate mcgrady, I just don't get the sympathy card the tmac fans give him. some people want his number retired.. for what?

seriously, some people need to realize what true greatness is and not romanticize a scenario that never happened.

Do you even understand the TV business or business in general?

Don't watch Inside the NBA then, turn the channel.

If you don't turn the channel, then you are being a hypocrite.

    You are mad about nothing.

Sure I understand it enough that you need guys from both extremes.

Also I said 100 times I do not mind him.

It was just a discussion how good of an analyst he is.

Let's just not mix it up and derail it like in other threads

People can watch other dramas and entertainment shows like Saturday Night Live....

Sure I used to watch the Inside NBA show, due various reasons I have become tired of Shaqtin a Fool and Barkley.

I will watch more NBA TV, ABC or other channels

in '09 McGrady like a chump picked the Lakers to win title while HIS OWN ROCKETS TEAM was still in playoffs facing them. He chose against his OWN TEAM  He's finally in a position where he can mouth off his "takes"

Dont expect McGrady to give Rockets any extra support.

listen to yourself. you think a random person off Clutchfans can have a show that has a national audience as popular as Inside the NBA and be more popular than Barkley?

    Seriously, stop the crack.

Yes, people can watch anything they want, that's why there are tons of channels.

But if nobody watches a show, that show would disappear, there would be no sponsors or commercials and therefore no money.

I don't watch the stupid Kardasian show, but I'm not stupid to think nobody is watching it. The executives who made that show are not stopping until nobody watches it.

    Barkley just signed last year
    http://www.si.com/nba/2015/05/13/in...-neal-ernie-johnson-kenny-smith-extension-tnt

The best studio show in sports television history will stay intact for the next couple of years.

At its upfront event today at Madison Square Garden, Turner Sports will announce that Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith—the quartet that makes up TNT’s Inside the NBA—have signed multi-year extensions with the company.

The news is particularly significant given Barkley has told Sports Illustrated repeatedly over the years that he thought it would be a struggle to complete his current contract when it expired in 2016. Now NBA fans will see him long past that date. Turner would not release information about the lengths of the extensions, but it’s likely in the 4-5 year range for most.
