Tyson Gay's chokejob at the Olympics will forever taint him in my book. Naturally, I want an American to win so I hope he does well, but there's absolutely no way he'll beat Bolt. Bolt will win doing his usual 80-90 meter slowdown.

Why do you call it a chokejob? Wasn't he hurt?

 

I hope he doesn't slow down. The way he ran that semi damn near backwards with a 9.89 makes it seem like he could destroy the record. I want the record to fall.

 

The 100m Finals will be around 2:35-2:40pm Central today.

 

He's always hurt. He literally "dropped the ball" during the 4x100 relay when he botched the baton handoff. Between that and all the hype that he failed to live up to I was very disappointed.

Yeah, I guess you can dislike the guy for that, but I like him because he's one of the few humble short distance guys, it seems. Usain gets on my nerves, but sadly I don't foresee the guy losing the 100 or 200.

 

I can't remember exactly what happened on the handoff in the relay but I really do think he was hurt. I still understand your disappointment though. Powell on the other hand, that was a chokejob.

Should be good final though. Got two Trinidadians in the final as well - Thompson and Burns. Both men were in the Olympic final and Thompson got the silver. Both of them were also on the 4 x 100m relay team that also copped silver. They have their work cut out for them to medal this time round.

This feeling....right now......is the WORST feeling in the world for a sprinter. Trust me. When you're just staring at the track, waiting for the race to start and having all the nerves/emotions running through your body. It's the worst feeling. Uggghhhh, I don't miss that at all! Hopefully these guys have a way of blocking that type of stuff out.

 

Im feeling nervous and anxious...cant imagine what they are feeling...

Edit: Bolt needs a tighter top...i feel like there will be a lot of drag with what he is wearing compared to Gay.
