    1. Lebron James 6-7 215 SG Akron OH HSSr. Undisputed top NBA prospect. Will take something astronomical to un-seed him as the top pick for the 2003 draft.
    2. James White 6-6 172 SG Florida So. Very raw. Still quite immature physically and mentally. Will need a breakout year to justify such a high ranking. But the growth between the freshman and sophomore years is usually the greatest. Look for "Flight" White to take off this season.
    3. Chris Bosh 6-10 220 PF Georgia Tech Fr. May struggle at first because of his lack of strength. Has a little Garnett "freakiness" in him. Very long, lean and agile. Just a super athlete with tremendous upside, and developing skills.
    4. Carmelo Anthony 6-7 205 SF Syracuse Fr. Has a more developed game than White right now and that's without a year of college ball. Should be a show-stopper from day one at Syracuse. Dominated in high school, and if he develops as rapidly as expected, look for him to be a high lottery pick in 2003.
    5. Luke Ridnour 6-2 165 PG Oregon Jr. His competitiveness is what really grabs you. The guy leaves it all out on the floor every time out. Great understanding of the game and amazing maturity. His quickness is very good, but his smarts and competitiveness are what separate him from the rest. Was a huge fan of "Pistol" Pete Maravich , and some of his game can be seen in Ridnour's. But Stockton is a closer comparison.
    6. Rickey Paulding 6-5 200 SG Missouri Jr. A high wire act type of player. Still hasn't had the chance to prove his abilities, playing under the shadow of Kareem Rush. Has much better athleticism, the type to be among the NBA's elite, but still has a ways to go in the skills department. Great upside potential.
    7. Chris Duhon 6-1 190 PG Duke Jr. Will handle a much bigger responsibility, and look for him to breakout. Looked timid and unsure of himself at times last year and must return to the form he showed during the summer of 2001 when he blew away all competition, beating out Frank Williams and leading the US team. He had very good numbers, but never seemed to hit the big shot when the team needed it.
    8. Rick Rickert 6-10 202 PF Minnesota So. One of the best outside shooters in college and that's impressive considering he's close to 7 feet. His ability to fit an NBA position is the biggest area of concern for him. He must either get stronger and focus on the post. Or look to be a Van Horn type of scorer lacking foot-speed
    9. Channing Frye 6-10 222 PF/C Arizona So. Impressive athleticism for a player his size. Very long and lean and with his long arms, plays bigger than his height. Kind of like Loren Woods, can lose his intensity at times, but has a better motor than Woods.
    10. Kendrick Perkins 6-10 260 C Ozen HSSr. Hasn't developed from his sophomore season to now as much as some would like, but there just aren't any bigmen with this kind of strength, agility, and touch. Must show more intensity and consistency.
    11. Nick Collison 6-10 250 PF Kansas Sr. Highest ranked Senior along with guards Gaines, and teammate Kirk Heinrich. Will play with the USA team at the World Championships in Indianapolis which should really help his future. Has great offensive skills and desire. His ability to muscle up against NBA PF's is the only question mark.
    12. TJ Ford 5-11 165 PG Texas So. A special talent. If he were two inches taller he would be a top 5 pick. He runs a team as well as any point guard in years. The height thing is going to hurt him some though. Bigger point guards will be able to post him and defend him more easily because of his size deficiency.
    13. Emeka Okafor 6-9 240 PF UConn So. A physical freak type with extremely long arms and great timing on block shots. Plays like a seven footer. Must develop on the offensive end. His touch around the basket needs work. He must develop some post moves. If his offense comes around, watch out.
    14. Reece Gaines 6-6 195 PG/SG Louisville Sr. A very smooth game with point guard skills at 6-6. Doesn't try to be spectacular, but can take over games when his team needs it. Very solid all around game.
    15. Raymond Felton 6-0 190 PG North Carolina Fr. Explosive point guard with great quickness and scoring ability. Has good strength. Could be the top point guard in college next year depending on how fast he adjusts. Lacks size or would rank higher.
    16. Dwyane Wade 6-4 200 SG Marquette Jr. Very active and athletic player who seems to play at another speed. His quickness and decision making are excellent, and he has great desire. His size is a detriment, but his athleticism and long arms help make up for it.
    17. Kirk Hinrich 6-3 180 PG Kansas Sr. Huckleberry Finn in basketball shorts. Doesn't look like an NBA player, but the kid has game. Will be playing the 2 position this year, but showed that he can run the show as a point guard. Some feel he can be the best point guard in college, although, he'll play the 1 and the 2.

    18. Pape Sow 6-10 230 PF Cal State Fullerton Jr. A bit of an unknown. Very talented Senglanese bigman who runs the floor extremely well. Struggled some last year as he is still adjusting to the college game, and teams keying on him, but still had some very impressive games. Watch for him to break out this season.
    19. Jarvis Hayes 6-6 200 SG Georgia Jr. Pro scouts love his game. He is a solid rebounder and defender, and his jump shot is dynamite.
    20. Cedric Bozeman 6-6 183 PG UCLA So. Struggled as a freshman. Sophomore season will be huge for him. It's "make or break" time. Looked unsure of himself much of his freshman year, but has great abilities, he just needs to put it together.
    21. Jason Fraser 6-9 210 PF Amityville NY Fr. Ultra athletic yet raw bigman. Needs a few years of college, but can mature into something special.
    22. Paul Davis 6-10 227 PF Michigan St. Fr. Should contribute immediately with his strength and skill level. Has polished moves with touch around the basket, and has toughness to go with it.
    23. David Harrison 7-0 240 C Colorado So. Possibly the top center prospect in college, with the truly elite no longer opting to play for free. Was thoroughly dominated by Eddy Curry in the McDonald's game two years back, but came on strong at the end of the season, and has size and some talent as well.
    24. Chris Marcus 7-1 285 C Western Kentucky Sr. Overhyped center with good size and strength but limited athleticism. Could be a lottery pick based on his size and strength, however he'll have to remain injury free and show some of the offensive skills he displayed two seasons ago.
    25. Shavlik Randolph 6-10 210 PF Duke Fr. Very smooth player who must decide whether to bulk up and lose some quickness or stay quick and try to handle the perimeter. Has a great opportunity to shine at Duke right away if he's ready.
    26. Mario Austin 6-9 255 PF Mississippi St. Jr. Was really coming on at the end of last season. So much so that he could have stayed in the draft and possibly gone in the first round. If he can continue to play at the same level he did last year, he should find a spot in the first round.
    27. Chris Thomas 6-1 165 PG Notre Dame So. Precocious PG with great all around ability. Very good understanding of the game. Probably stays until his junior or senior year.
    28. Troy Bell 6-1 171 PG Boston College Sr. Very head strong player with a knack for scoring and getting to the free throw line where he's automatic.
    29. Maurice Williams 6-1 185 PG Alabama So. Not a phenomenal athlete, but has great creativity and maturity. Has a great basketball mind, which is key at the PG position. Has a bright future.
    30. David Lee 6-9 224 SF Florida So. A player with great leaping ability and basketball skills. Doesn't have great speed, but his all around skills make him a very intruiging prospect. Should mature into a very strong player as a sophomore, and possibly look to turn pro as a junior.
    31. Luke Jackson 6-7 215 SF Oregon Jr. Dead-eye shooter with nice overall skills and competitiveness. Lacks super athleticism.
    32. Luke Walton 6-8 228 SF Arizona Sr. Probably doesn't have the athleticism to get a look in the lottery but mid to late first round is very possible for the cerebral Walton. An unbelievable passer.
    33. David West 6-8 232 PF Xavier Sr. Undersized PF with great versatility. A dominant college PF who can do it all, score, rebound, defend.

    34. Darius Rice 6-10 205 SF Miami Jr. Similar to Tayshaun Prince, has incredibly long arms and a great shooting stroke. However he's a perimeter guy who lacks quickness off the dribble and in the open floor.
    35. Pierre Pierce 6-3 180 PG Iowa So. Has marvelous size, quickness, and explosiveness. Has all the tools to be great, just needs to harness his point guard skills.
    36. Ben Gordon 6-2 185 PG UConn Fr. A scoring point guard with great confidence and toughness. Could take over as "The man" at UConn this year.
    37. Errick Craven 6-2 190 PG USC So. The local media compares him to Harold Minor. Has great athleticism. Can really explode to the basket. Offensive skills and aggressiveness are his strengths. Needs to develop his point guard abilities.
    38. Jamar Smith 6-9 PF Maryland Jr. A very good athlete with scoring ability. Juco rebounder who should be a key player right away with the number of players Maryland lost to graduation and the draft.
    39. Marcus Hatten 6-2 180 PG/SG St John's Sr. A poor mans Steve Francis. Very athletic PG with great handles and athleticism. His point guard skills are good, not great,
    40. Deng Gia 6-9 250 PF Fairfield So. Bigman from the Sudan with great upside. Very strong body with developing game. Doesn't get much media recognition at Fairfield but is on NBA scouts radar.
    41. Dijon Thompson 6-6 190 SG/SF UCLA So. A very smooth guard with size and great handles and passing ability. Some are wondering if he may not end up better than class mate and more highly acclaimed Cedric Bozeman.
    42. Marcus Moore 6-6 182 PG Washington St. Jr. Very confident passer who despite playing on a horrible team, has displayed very good potential. Can handle the point position, with great ball handling and passing skills. The big point guard creates mismatches or helps remedy the small SG problem.
    43. Jawad Williams 6-9 200 SF North Carolina So. Got off to a rocky start but began to settle down as the season progressed. Has a chance to develop into something special.
    44. Doug Wrenn 6-6 220 SF Washington Jr. Off the court discipline is still a question mark. Seems to have matured after transferring from UConn back home to Washington. Has incredible athleticism and offensive talent. Can move way up if he can keep his head on straight.
    45. Isma'il Muhammad 6-6 195 SG/SF Georgia Tech So. Like Quentin Richardson, a power guard. Over-powers opposing guards with his great strength. Impressive legs and lower body strength make his an animal on the boards.
    46. Shelden Williams 6-9 245 PF Duke Fr. A beast under the basket. Has decent touch but is not highly skilled offensively. Rebounding and muscle are his strengths.
    47. Ronny Turiaf 6-9 228 PF Gonzaga Fr. Gonzaga has a great pipeline developing from Europe. Frenchman Ronny Turiaf has great upside. A superb rebounder and defender that plays with great energy.
    48. Dahntay Jones 6-6 210 SG Duke Sr. A great athlete with good upside, just needs to improve on his jumpshot and consistency. Capable of monster dunks, and spurts of great play. If he can settle down and play more consistently, his stock can really improve.
    49. Jerome Harper 6-5 200 SG Iowa State Jr. Has one of the best cross-over dribbles known to man. Can light it up from outside and has a very strong offensive repertoire. After failing to land on a college roster out of High School, took the smart (Juco) route, instead of declaring and playing minor league ball, after being dropped by Cincinnati. Watch for Harper to blow up this year.
    50. Torin Francis 6-10 220 PF Notre Dame Fr. A project who didn't begin playing basketball until he was a teenager. Has great athleticism and upside.

a couple thing to help ya out.

McCants will be a great college player, but right now he is basically a 6'3 small forward.

Thomas is only a sophomore and still has a lot to prove. He was one of the best freshman last year, but to be a truly elite player he has to get his own shot a lot easier and not disappear in big games.

Pape snow, watch him, he still has a lot to prove.

Gaines is a worse pro prospect than both, hinrich and felton.

Okafor, is one of my favorite college player, but he doesan't have an offensive game as of now. he'll staly in college a few year and bypass the draft. Look for him as a top pick 2 years from now

James, is horribly overrated. Look for him to struggle again next year

James White is overrated. He hasn't proved anything in actual games. Chris Thomas started to look real good towards the end of the season. Okafor has some offense, but hasn't gotten to show it because of all their guard-play last year. Bosh and Ridnour are ranked too high.
