    Don't understand the "I'm ok with Melo coming IF he comes off the bench." Who would even start over him?

    What is the MAX any team can offer?
    They can offer than and a No Trade Kicker/Clause etc

    Some team has to hamstring themselves for 4 years just to try to trick the Rockets
    The rockets let them will destroy themselves

    That's where the conspiracy theorist in me thinks/hopes/believes that if Morey, D'Antoni, etc made this request then they are anticipating on adding a player that's more suited (e.g. better) as the starting SF.

    PJ Tucker.

    The "off the bench" argument would be Paul/Harden/FA Wing/Tucker/Capela.

    However, I don't really care who starts as long as we aren't guaranteeing Melo specific playing time.

    So many people are ready to force him to the bench
    Seems like it is more out of spite and wanting to humble him . ..than basket ball reasons . . .

    Maybe the goal/dream is to have constant offensive firepower on the court for all 48 minutes? Harden/Paul then Melo/Gordon comes in and plays against the opposition's bench.

    There is absolutely zero chance Morey gets though this offseason without adding a defensive wing. I'm not sure who it will be, possibly Ennis, but we will add somebody and they will start with Tucker. Harden and Melo on the floor together for extended periods...is not something I would look forward to.

    Exactly. Another team could offer the amount he reportedly is requesting from the Rockets and that the Rockets are refusing to pay.

    nobody is offering capela what he is asking at this point. certainly not some other team. if capela was going to get a $20+ mil offer he would of gotten it a long time ago.

    Yea you really need to have capable defenders on the floor with Harden...not because he's atrocious but because he can carry the offense by himself either by scoring or setting up his teammates. The dropoff in offense definitely occurs when neither Harden nor Paul is on the court. Hopefully that's where Melo can come in and tag team with Gordon

    It still amazes me that the offer put out on the table on the first day of Free Agency was not suitable. Like c'mon Clint, you really think there's another team out there that is going to give you more than $17 mill a year this summer?

    For one, he needs to play the 4 not 3 and Tucker played well there. More importantly, if he shows he is willing to come off the bench you know his head is in the right place -- team-first.

    I’d like to see our rotation as:

    Paul
    Harden
    Ennis
    Tucker
    Capela

    Bench: Melo, EG, Green

    Assuming we get Ennis and Melo and we don’t need two Centers in our rotation. Still can’t see Melo accepting a bench role though and Ennis could easily be picked up by someone else.
