    Three spots are set

    C - Capela
    SG - Harden
    PG - CP3

SF and PF are up for grabs

PF - Early person for me is THICC - PJ Tucker

SF is a mystery - Melo or Ego or Gerald Green

Capela, PJ, Ego, Harden, CP3 - Seems kind of short to me
The bench punch would be weak
    GG, Melo, Anderson,

I’d bring Harden off the bench if he cares about winning a championship.

While I am all for Melo coming off the bench
I think the big question is who starts in front of him

Melo and Anderson seem like the same guy right about now

My best guess for starting lineup on opening day would be Paul/Harden/Tucker/Melo/Capela.

I can't see Melo wanting to come off the bench and can't see Morey blowing his chance to FINALLY sign Melo.

Only caveat here is that if they like Ennis after camp/pre-season maybe they go Paul/Harden/Ennis/Melo/Capela

I like GG but I cannot see him starting

This line up will have 40 point 1st quarters . . . both ways

I'm thoroughly anti-Melo, but will hope for the best once he comes here.

Having said that...he's far better than Ryno. Melo at least still has his confidence.

Melo's unwavering confidence is a double edged sword.

    No doubt about it.

But give me the guy who wants to be on the court as opposed to the guy that doesn't. Not an ideal scenario, obviously, but that's my take.

And we did decent with a confident Anderson starting as far as the wins go. I prefer the defensive identity version of the Rockets that took GSW to 7 games, but the ball movement version of the Rockets we saw early last season was good too.

The main difference is, when defenses focused on closing out Ryno he became a non-factor. If defenses do that to Melo, he can put the ball on the floor and attack. He can average 5 free throw attempts per game -- that's huge.

I agree, what Anderson gave us is not that far off from what Melo might provide in the starting role, but Melo is more dynamic & a better player who can also carry a heavy offensive load when needed.

Is Melo even all that far off from the version of Chandler Parsons we let walk? The same Parsons who stopped playing good defense...

With all that said, I'm not a supporter of Melo, but at this point -- why not?

The only thing worse than having a bad basketball player on the floor is having a player who thinks he is better than he actually is. Ryan Bowen knew he sucked and found a way to contribute. JR Smith has no idea he sucks and will shoot you out of the game in a quarter.

The Center position isn't set yet. PJ Tucker is a near lock to be starting in my opinion.

    With Carmelo and Capela
    Paul, Harden, Carmelo, Tucker, Capela

    With Capela no Carmelo
    Paul, Harden, Gordon, Tucker, Capela

    With Carmelo no Capela
    Paul, Harden, Carmelo, Tucker, Anderson

When Paul is out due to injury or rest
    Harden, Gordon, Tucker, Carmelo, Capela

You are aware that there is no senario where Capela is not here next year right?
He either signs the QO or A Long term deal
Those are the only two options

No way Morey releases Capela for nothing
So . . . Capela will be here

Virtually yes. But it is not set because he is currently not on the team. Technically another team could poison-pill them into a corner. It's very likely that he returns but it is not set.
