In the history of Astros Baseball has that ever been done? I challenge you fans to keep overthinking things
You know what... I am going to vent a bit. I've been to 18 Astros games this year. Including in the Diamond Club, and 3 at Fenway Park. I also went to a Hooks game to watch my boy Garrett Stubbs dominate. I've paid thousands of dollars to cheer on my team. We suck, and I love them, and I don't regret it This offense is pathetic. You can find people on the streets in Houston they could do what Rasmus and Gomez have done this year. Keuchel is the bigger disappointment in Astros history. Hinch... Do you even care at all?
Swap Kemp & Moran for Tucker & White tomorrow. About all we can do is keep a revolving door until someone shows something since we neglected to acquire a major league bat. Forbid we give up any of our prospects
I'm not sure Hinch is the guy that deserves your venom. He just coaches the team, he doesn't acquire players. The Astros have brought up players that did well in the minors that have just sucked at the major league level. So, it's not like the haven't tried. White, Reed, Tucker, Worth, Moran, Bregman. You would think one of these guys could hit a little bit.
Did anyone catch that stat tonight, something about Altuve, Springer, Correa, Valbuena having a .270 combined average for the past few months and then the rest of the lineup hitting a combined .180ish with no single guy over .220 or so? Not sure of the exact numbers, but that's pathetic either way.
I've been saying it. Hinch has done a great job to get as many wins with so many mediocre hitters, inconsistent bullpen and no true ace. Springer would be like the 5th best hitter on most playoff teams. It is what it is. We enjoyed the wins, now we gotta deal with the losses. Excited about the young pitchers coming out. Maybe this offseason, it is time to turn a couple of them into an ace or solid bats.
This. Spoiler 2011 Astros 56-106 - No starter hit below .240 (.240 from Humberto Quintero) 2012 Astros 55-107 - 2 starters hit below .222(Jordan Schafter & Brian Bogusevic) 2013 Astros 51-111 - 1 starter hit below .222(Carlos Pena) Most teams have one Some have two Rarely three but FOUR?! FIVE?! Jason Castro Colby Rasmus Carlos Gomez Evan Gattis Tyler White Jake Marisnick Preston Tucker A.J. Reed Alex Bregman Madison Bumgarner thinks these guys suck at hitting.
Dodgers demoted the "struggling" Puig with his .260 BA & .706 OPS. I joke but he'd probably be hitting cleanup for Houston! His .260 avg would be T-3rd with Valbuena & OPS 7th. Lineup has a long way to go.
Hinch has done a great job doing what exactly? What the Hell has Hinch done that has this team winning more than they should? Stop!
The hitting is terrible. I know that we are supposed to be built around the home run but we still k far far too much. It seems like the more important the at bat, the more we strike out! We kill so many rallies and squander so many chances by simply not putting the ball in play.
