Just because James Harden failed to beat the Spurs in the second round, doesn't make me lose faith in him compared to someone who's reputation was losing in the first round.

Too many 'fixed' games and not open honest competitive play is the problem. Too many dumb asses assuming that it was just 'lazy' play or messing up. I hope this individuals try to yank their heads out of their tight buttholes and really digest what is going on.

Where was this honesty at the #14 pick in the draf, first round exist and sub 50 win seasons?

I wonder where it will be during the coming #Sub14 draft picks, 40+ loss seasons, praying for a star the caliber of Harden.

We had Yao and Tmac and could not get out of the first round but Harden sucks because a bad loss in the second? Heart and two stars did not be us out of the first round. But draft picks and cast offs in a trade is suppose to get us a championship.

So definitely NOT a "fact." Of the three superstars Harden has shared a team with, the only one he didn't get along extremely well with was Dwight Howard. Ask Kobe about getting along with Dwight. You can also ask Millsap next year, when he no longer has to pretend to like Dwight.

His OKC years are irrelevant since he was a completely different caliber of player. For example, look at Kobe. Young Kobe got along just fine with Shaq, but as Kobe became a superstar, they began feuding. Eventually, they couldn't co-exist.

If the player had FG% (overall or 3pt) below team average, and you claim he had one of the best regular seasons of all time, you are simply wrong.

Zero expectations walking into season after most disappointing season in team history. Proceeds to:

    1) Have most prolific offensive season in history
    2) Unanimous 1st team All NBA
    3) Runner up for MVP
    4) leads Rockets to 55 wins
    5) Gets us to 2nd round
    6) Leads league in assists
    7) Has bad last game

    Trade him!!!11!!!

He's already in the conversation for 2nd best Rocket of all time and folks want to trade him. This is unreal.

Your arguments don't address the reasons people want to trade Harden.

    Basis of argument:

Harden is not perfect, thus trade him.

Nope, not even remotely close. It'd be nice if a Harden apologist actually took the time to rebut his criticisms (first post of the thread) instead of deflecting.

we have one star on this team, some good role players, and a lot of medicore role players. somehow this team had the 3rd best record in the league.....because of harden.

...and because of teams resting stars (Cleveland) and injuries (Raptors, Clippers, Jazz).

It's annoying when a Lin fan such as yourself feels the need to inject him into every conversation, regardless of relevance.

People that know that stars like Harden don't grow on trees aren't apologists. They're just people that would rather not root for the Magic, Kings or Wolves. Let's look at those criticisms then:

*Harden is not a real #1 guy on a team and needs another superstar

He is a #1 guy but yes he needs another star or two. Did OP watch Harden this year?

*Harden wants to be the top dog and really doesn't co-exist well with another superstar type

Yes he does, we don't know that? The only other type has been Dwight who was hardly a superstar and had a playing style that was outdated. Go look at Atlanta and the shambles he left them in.

*Harden is still lazy on D and will never be a real two-way player

Neither is Westbrook, Curry or CP3.

*Harden has fallen in love with shooting 3's and he's not that good at it

The whole team has, he needs to threaten with a 3 to open up his drives. There's a reason he gets pressed at the 3 pt line.

*Harden still parties too much to be counted on

    God shut up.

*Harden relies too heavily on the refs making calls and it seems everyone including the league is tired of it

Manipulates the rules that are there. No problem with this but it does pose a problem in the playoffs when the games tighten up and possessions matter more.

*Harden has not been the same guy in the playoffs as he has is the regular season

    Yes he has.

*Harden is not the free agency magnet he is hyped to be (Durant wouldn't even talk to us)

Durant wouldn't talk to us after a terrible season full of turmoil and disarray? SHOCKING.

*Harden will quit if things aren't going his way

    This doesn't deserve a response.

"Durant wouldn't talk to us after a terrible season full of turmoil and disarray? SHOCKING."

Has more to do with his desire to go to a team that has ringed recently.
