I give him full credit for that. I just don't buy the idea that he orchestrated all of this from day one. He is a quick adapter. He goes hard after plan A bit recovers well if that plan doesn't work.
He orchestrated waiting for a good move. It's like a thrift shopper looking for a new TV. You might not be able to predict which good TV will go on sale but you can be pretty sure that one will eventually. Lawson just so happens to be the TV that went on sale.
I can agree with that. Sometimes waiting works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes that TV lasts you 10 years, sometimes it is a rip-off. But you can't be scared to take that chance.

If you won the championship last year, there would still be people immediately after wanting changes NOW.
Let's give credit where credit is due. Morey just pulled off an awesome deal for the Rockets. I don't get people saying DUI helped Morey and therefore he deserves less credit. Every GM who wanted to trade for Lawson was helped by DUI. Morey still had beat out other GMs to get Lawson.
There are 28 other teams in the league, how come they werent able to get Lawson? Lawson was an oportunity, Morey put the team in a position to take advantage of that opportunity thanks to roster flexibility and cap management, and not doing stupid **** like getting low end but expensive vets and throwing the entire MLE to Josh Smith because "he deserved it". In other words not listening to some fans on the board who dont know jack.
Can someone pull up the list of times that this cycle has happened? Honestly, this has happened way more times than I can count. 1. People get desperate and start crying about why Morey isn't making SPLASH moves. 2. Other teams make semi-SPLASH moves. Some posters bring out pitchforks. 3. Morey makes SPLASH move, now we pull out the flower and roses. I would think that Morey has the benefit of the doubt now after all these years, but every year we get the same panic posts.
