In the lead up to the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, South Africa was banned from competing for their stance on human rights.

FIFA has recently threatened Iran with a boycott from competition for their stance on human rights.

We are in the lead up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, might be time for FIBA to take the first step and threaten China with a boycott unless they apologize to the NBA? Basically China has a stance on human rights that you can't criticise their regime (those losers!). They are welcome to that position, but shouldn't be allowed to bully everyone else into doing what they want.
Take a stand FIBA and lead the way. And the rest of the world sporting vodies should follow. Exclude China from international.competition so that they realize the world doesn't bend the knee to their stance on human rights (ie, the freedom to tweet whatever an individual would want to tweet - no matter how dumb it might be!)

Whatever Morey tweeted is irrelevant. Lets just say (for arguments sake) it was completely inaccurate. China still doesn't have the right to try and manipulate his sacking by banning a sport. Or rather, they DO have that right, and the rest of the world needs to now exercise their right to say "piss off, we're not playing with you anymore".

Of course, all sports scared of losing some $$ might just hope it doesn't happen to them....

((Side note: because Silver didn't grovel for the Chinese $$ I am renewing my league pass sub this year, which I cancelled after the refereeing debacle in game 7 2018))

FIBA are corrupt. What the Philippines team and supporters did to the Australian team would have seen them banned for a few years by other sports authorities.

    What?

Are there any Chinese NBA players?

The intention is to exclude China from international sport.

FIBA is more likely to ban the US for not being corrupt enough, though it's not fir lack of trying recently
