I'd be interested to know if he can provide information on how refs are assigned. I'm sure it's been altered/changed since he left the NBA but still would be interested to know how they handled assignments while he was still reffing.

Donaghy would take the Houston +5.5 tonight.

Donaghy believes refs should be "sat down" not allowed to ref more playoff games after bad games

Said Zarba should sit out rest of playoffs after Game 1 performance.

NBA kind of created an untouchable monster in Scott Foster.

Donaghy kind of side stepped the Foster-134 phone calls question.

Confirmed that Foster also loves gambling, loves casinos

He didn't say much that we haven't already assumed or read though his reply that Scott Foster is arrogant was pretty funny.

Tuned in kind of late but here's what I picked up:

Is Scott Foster/ James Harden relationship personal?
It is. Scott doesn’t want to be embarrassed by Harden. He doesn’t want to be embarrassed by flops and get the crowd against him when there are 20,000+ people rooting against him.

    Is Foster a good referee?
He is, he makes good calls. He is in great shape. He is cocky and a bit full of himself. He knows he’s untouchable which has made an enemy out of him. If he gets that under control he could be more accepted.

You made 130+ calls to Foster, more than to your bookie. Is that true? Why so many calls?
Idk if its true or not. I am the godfather of his son and he’s the godfather of my daughter. We had a lot of similar interest, even gambling. When you’re on the road you get bored and you want to speak to someone so we called each other.

Sometimes calls were made during games you reffed and before and after you called your bookie.
I don’t know if this is true. Lots of stuff is fabricated in those articles so I can’t confirm or deny

    Will Rockets win tonight?
I’d take the 5.5+ in Houston rockets tonight. Foster likes to give the road team the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, he did say that Foster loved to talk about gambling. I mean, isn't that a massive, massive red flag for your refs to gamble? If it's OK, then Pete Rose should be in the Baseball HOF.

Also, how does ego play into being a ref? You're a 'bad guy' the second you step on to the court. I bet he has a solid marriage.

    Didn't catch all of it...

Zach Zarba, even though his performance was abysmal, you'll see him in the Conference Finals & NBA Finals. When they screw up, they need to sit them down for the rest of the playoffs.

    Shocked Chris Paul wasn't suspended.

Scott Foster a good NBA official? He is. He's at the top of the class. He knows the rules. He's a great leader. What hurts him is he's arrogant & cocky.

(Phone calls to/with Foster) I was the godfather of his son, he was godfather of my daughter; had same interests with golf, gambling. We had a lot of things in common.

Rockets get a fair shake tonight? I do. More than a fair shake. Scott Foster likes to go against the home team. Anything marginal will go in the favor of Houston. Took the Rockets & the 5 1/2 tonight.

And the fact that they were all 2 minute or shorter in duration, occurring before & after the compromised games!

Where there is smoke, there is fire. No doubt in my mind Foster is (or at the very least was) dirty.

Donaghy had to be the scapegoat.. they act like it was a one man show when it wasn't. If they canned all the suspected perps.. they would blow the whole operation wide open so they had to double down and say he was a lone wolf.
