Get your Cable bill lowered and your internet speed increased. We went down to get all of our family phones on one bill, and decided to go into the My life plan with UVerse and Security etc..etc..etc... However, I decided to call Time Warner and give them a chance to match, they lowered my cable bill $100 a month - and they increased my internet speed from 20/2 to 200/20......uh, we stayed with Time Warner for cable. Point being, you can call and negotiate with your provider - and it can work out in your favor - man this speed is insane. DD
I'm about to threaten to leave them. Company is such trash. My girlfriend moved in so we canceled my plan and switched to hers (we both used Comcast). They disconnected my plan and told me there would be no termination charge because I was sticking with Comcast. Now I'm getting daily calls telling me I owe them $400, even after they told me it was their mistake and I don't owe anything. It's been going on for 3 weeks.
Austin has a lot of competition. Google's also coming in with their superfast Fiber network, which I'm waiting to see come into our neighborhood. It'll be several months at least, though. Maybe even next year. Hope it isn't that long. I've done what DD's doing several times over the years. Time to do it again. Good job, DD!
Being in Austin my internet is faster then what I need. My roommate has whatever speed for $60 a month and I can download a gig in a matter of seconds.
Sounds nice. I'm stuck in a situation (many, many miles from Texas) where my landlords are living literally next door with semi-respectable AT&T internet but my house is apparently Time Warner exclusive. TW did give me a free bump from 3MB to 6MB recently, but that's kind of like getting a free bump from only eating McDonald's to only eating Hardee's.
I called Comcast last week to discontinue TV and flip over to my apple TV, maintaining their internet service, and they cut my bill by $100 too with no change in service. So I stayed for a little longer as it feels like good value.
I have Phonoscope mandated by my complex. I get a blazing 3 mbps. I love it. Buffering on Netflix is like TV commercials but less annoying. It gives me a chance to get up and get a drink or make a sandwich. You don't need HD, its for suckers.
I'm under a contract with Uverse and when I call to cancel they just say "LOL OK that'll be $225 for early termination should I process that right now or do you want to think about it?" Then I make those angry noises Joe Pesci made in Home Alone and tell them no, that's fine. I'll stick with what I've got.
