This season schedule sucks so much for development purposes

The amount of traveling and lack of rest is pretty insane. There seems to be almost no rest time when you take into account traveling time into the schedule. Forget practice, I'm not sure young guys can even reflect on their previous game before the next one starts.

It's one thing if you have a solid core. Win or lose, at least you know what you're doing. But for our young guys, I wonder how much they can improve under such circumstances. Yes, they'll get minutes and reps. But that doesn't mean improvement unless they use that experience to learn and improve.

Its perfect because they will have to get minutes to keep the veterans fresh. Absolute perfect storm of madness for the Rockets to get something done finally. When all the other teams are running around and have no time to think a guy like Morey can capitalize if GMs are not prepared for him like before in the past.

Getting minutes doesn't make a player better if said player keeps doing the wrong things. Just like if even if a student does gazillion math problems with inherently bad knowledge, he'd still suck at math after doing those problems. A young player needs to play, understand what he did badly, and go out the next time to improve. Rinse, Repeat. Until he becomes a better player. Just keep playing youngsters without the education to back them up won't do anything. They'll just keep sucking.

We will see. If they get to play.
