Hubie was going out of his way to praise our defensive intensity last night. He just calls it as it is.

I love me some Hubie. I mean, sure, he can tire you out, but his love for the game is plain. Ditto my main man, JVG.

They can't! They want the media love, need the media love!

    Go to bed crying because SportsCenter didn't lead off with them and/or the highlights weren't long enough;
Wake up crying because the talking heads on all the hot taek shows "disrespected" them.
Hard to enjoy the ride when all you do is cry/whine! No one enjoys that.

I have heard him before call rockets game and I could tell something that he's not a Rocket fan.

I’ve always liked Hubie. Unbiased as an announcer and always explains what a team has to do to win or get back in the game. I much prefer Hubie over our own announcers.

Sorry. I felt the same. Maybe he roots for the teams that are down, but the last two games he called for us, all he could talk about was how the other team could get back in it. Nothing about how the Rockets could sustain the lead. Granted, both games were blow outs in our favor. In any case, the Hubie O sounds continue to be hilarious to me.

Some people only hear what they WANT to hear.
Hubie's voice gets annoying at times, but if you really pay attention
he does a good job of complimenting both teams. But typically we
only seem to hear when he compliments the OTHER team.
But it does seem that he just wants fans to watch a competitive game.

Too bad for SA fans. They got a BLOW OUT. GO ROCKETS!

Hubie talked at length about Paul and Harden, about how well the offense was working, and about Clint and what the numbers he is putting up playing half a game. He just tries to explain what the team that is losing needs to do to get back in the game and then when they start doing it, he says, "There you go."

Hubie said some dumb stuff last night (all broadcasters do), but I think the OP's quote is out of context.

IIRC, Hubie often talks about what he thinks the teams "should" be doing, and when that actually happens he says "there you go".

He literally cheers the opposing team. He's not even trying to hide it.
I remember when Harden hit the gamewinner jumper against the Mavs in the playoffs and he said "ughh"

I thought Hubie's m.o. was that he rooted for the team that was down but the Rockets clearly didn't get any of that love down 5 in the last minute.

I noticed he was blatantly rooting for the other team the last three Rockets. games he called. But maybe it's just because he viewed the other team as the underdog.

He cheers for team that are down and make good plays to make the game competitive. The Rockets were garbage to close this game.
