I guess he will be taking DJ Mbenga's minutes on the bench.

Theo is old enough to sub for Powell AND DJ's minutes on the bench.

Good signing. Theo can still ball.

Wonder what Morey's last move will be...Jared or David have to go..

If you watched the Spurs at all this year, he sucks. Can give you about 5 good minutes. But since the Lakers signed him everyone on ESPN and the national media will call this a steal.

This is there current lineup as is:

    Fisher/Blake/Vujabitch
    Bryant/Brown?
    Artest/Barnes/Walton
    Gasol/Odom
    Bynum/Rathliff

Ehh. I think they got worse, IMO. Barnes is alright, but him and Artest in the same locker room is not a good thing. Kobe is Kobe, he will never age, and Gasol and Bynum are still a legit Duo.

The area where I see us benefiting is at the point guard spot. That is the area that they got significantly worse. Fisher is a year older and will eventually break down and Steve Blake is a downgrade from Jordan Farmar. I expect Brooks to light them up because both of them couldn't guard him in the playoffs.

Bryant will probably have to hold Brooks and that would leave either Artest or Fisher to guard Martin. I don't think either of them are quick enough to guard him through cuts and screens.

The Brad Miller signing gives us added length and a legit 7 footer with Yao to counter the Gasol/Bynum duo.

The rich get richer. The biggest criticism the Lakers had was their terrible bench. They've replaced Farmar, Benga, and Brown with Barnes, Blake, and Ratliff, definitely upgrades in every way.

    WTF you smoking?

    Their bench got worse, IMO.

    Farmar > Blake

Farmar was the only one that could handle Brooks in the playoffs. Was it coincidence that the game Fisher was suspended for and Farmar started that Brooks was shut down? And we all now how Brooks torched the Blazers, more specifically Blake in the playoffs.

    Brown > Barnes

Depends how you look at it, Barnes is a little bit better on defense but not by that much. Brown is better offensively and is much quicker.

    Benga = Ratliff

It's a wash, but I much rather have the younger, quicker, and more mobile Benga than the corpse of Ratliff.

I think that the richer got poorer.

The Lakers downgraded at both the back up Center and Point guard spot.

I don't know if Brown or Benga have re-signed with the Lakers though, so we will have to wait and see.

If YOU watched the Bobcats at all last season or did any research, you would have seen that he played anywhere from 15 to 30 min while playing for the Bobcats.
