Tall, beautiful women(stereotype, but still), universal healthcare, high standard of living, a climate that will be near perfect once the world heats up some more but at least they still have seasons, right to own guns and hunt, close to mainland Europe and beautiful forests/coast. I am sure there are other things to focus on other than accusations that the president divulge confidential information to Russia, or that the president fired the FBI director to obstruct investigations of president's people and Russia, or accusations that the president attempted to obstruct justice by asking the former FBI director to not investigate the former NSA adviser.

Sure, Sweden is an interesting place. Beautiful country and women. And some really good television and movies... Wallander, The Bridge, Let the Right One In, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to name just a few.

I guess we can refocus the thread and OP back to more timely and important discussion topics by (1) discussing what the people in Sweden think about Donald Trump and (2) look for any Swedish reporting on the current issues involving Trump (allegations of obstruction of justice, divulging sensitive intel to Russia, etc).

I'm Nicholas Maduro and I totally agree with you. Do not believe what you hear. In Venezuela we have complete freedom, we have no censorship period. Did you actually read the article you posted? No one's free speech is being blocked. Sweden is blocking other people from their own official @Sweden account - meaning you can still say whatever racist hateful stuff you want. They just won't read it on their feed. Or do you now believe that their freedom to not read things you write should not be allowed?

The women are pretty but personally I think the Dutch and the German babes are more beautiful(I was stationed in Holland for over 2 years when I was in the Airforce). I visited a friend there I met while I was in the military. I'm trying to help him immigrate to the the US. He's very upset with his government and so are a lot of Swedes. A lot of them do not speak freely about their angers because they know they're being watched. My friend told me he feels the government does not have the interests and well being of Swedes first because they want political correctness....and whatever that means. The things that you hear about the refugee crisis are a lot worse here. He took me to these no go zones and told me the police are not allowed to go in. I've been to Sweden in the 80s when I was in the military and I don't recognize this Sweden. I was looking for a word to describe it and the dude on the video is spot on: creepy. I will not go back that's for sure.

You are talking to Americans right now who has a Right Wing President whose DOJ is pursuing ways to JAIL REPORTERS and you have the Left in open mass protest on a daily basis exercising their rights to free speech. Nobody censors more now than the Nationalist North Korea and the Authoritarian Right Wing Russian government. The same Russian government the OP aspires our country to mold its government after.

What the hell are you even talking about specifically? I have family from Sweden and have gone to visit them several times. Its one of the most beautiful places in the world I've been to with great architecture, great culture, I felt very safe walking the streets of Stockholm at all hours of the day & night, and the people are super sweet. I'm not a fan of the cuisine though, but I've had worse.

I will tell you this much... they do need to start censoring public nudity in the swimming pool. God bless them (my family who came to visit) but they are both what I would consider rather on the large side, and they came to visit and after a brief visit they just up and decide to strip butt naked and jump in our pool laughing and giggling. I have that image burned in my head for the rest of my life.

Read my reply to the other poster. This is the opinion of my Swedish friend as well as other Swedes that I've met who are honest enough to share their true feelings about their government. I'm not talking about the breathtakingly beauty of the place as well as the people. I'm talking about the current state of affairs....specifically the people that are running that country.

 

No one thinks your anecdotal evidence is better than studies or the opinions of other people.
